It carries the classic British attitude that many enthusiasts prefer, yet it stays approachable & modern where it matters. The moment you look at it, you sense a bike built with purpose and clean attention to detail. 4/5

The Triumph Thruxton 400 has entered the retro segment with a great personality. The bike merges the old school style with modern capability in an effortless way on the road. You get a 398cc liquid cooled engine that makes smooth and energetic power, especially when you want to pick up the pace quickly. The 6 speed gearbox works neatly in traffic and feels relaxed on open highways.

Triumph Thruxton 400 - Overview

What really sets the Thruxton 400 apart, though, is just how balanced and refined it is. Triumph has kept things appropriately simple and rider focused, with essentials like traction control, dual channel ABS, ride by wire, and a semi digital console but not so much as to overwhelm the bike with a glut of technology. Whether you're slicing through busy streets or just easy-cruising along, the Thruxton 400 comports itself with a calm, premium demeanor. It’s built for riders who appreciate clean design, smooth performance, and practical everyday comfort.

4.5/5

  • Triumph keeps the features simple, and that actually works in the bike's favour because it keeps the riding experience clean and distraction-free.
  • This semi-digital console mixes up with the old and new quite nicely, giving you an analogue speedometer for that classic touch.

Triumph Thruxton 400 - Digital Console

  • The ride-by-wire throttle makes the engine more refined during swift inputs, which is a help mainly in city traffic.
  • Thruxton 400 gets traction control that steps in gently whenever the roads get slippery, adding lots of confidence for both newer & experienced riders.
  • Modern touches include LED DRLs, LED indicators and dual channel ABS complete the safety package.
  • It does skip Bluetooth and navigation, but the focus is clearly on enjoying the ride rather than relying on screens and apps.

5/5

  • The Thruxton 400 looks like a bike that's built with some real pride, and that shows the moment you walk up to it.
  • Its rounded headlamp, stretched tank, and tight rear section carry pure café racer DNA without feeling old fashioned.

Triumph Thruxton 400 - Headlight

  • The proportions of this bike look spot on, with a mature, sporty stance that stands out yet doesn't shout for attention.
  • The cast alloy wheels bring the modern twist, helping balance classic looks with everyday practicality.
  • Paint finish, panel quality, and overall detailing feel premium and add to the ownership satisfaction.
  • Some riders may want spoke wheels for a more authentic retro appearance; these, though, keep the bike lighter and more service-friendly.

Triumph Thruxton 400 - Tail light

4/5

  • The Triumph Thruxton 400 has a 398cc liquid cooled engine that generates 41.4 bhp of power and 37.5 Nm of torque.

Triumph Thruxton 400 - Engine

  • The power delivery remains smooth and predictable, giving novices confidence while giving experienced riders ample punch to enjoy.
  • The 6 speed gearbox shifts cleanly, and the slipper clutch makes stop and go traffic far easier to manage.
  • The Thruxton gives revs towards 9,000 rpm, and with a short stroke design, the bike feels responsive when you want a quick burst of power.
  • It offers mileage of around 48 kmpl, which, for a performance café racer in this bracket, is surprisingly efficient.

5/5

  • Even with its sporty café racer stance, the Thruxton 400 doesn't forget about everyday comfort.
  • The 795mm seat height is friendly for most riders and the riding position settles you in without forcing your body forward too much.

Triumph Thruxton 400 - Seat

  • The 43mm USD Big Piston forks smooth out rough spots nicely, while the rear gas charged monoshock keeps the bike on an even keel.
  • Seat cushioning is firm, which suits the sporty personality of this buggy but might feel somewhat stiff during longer trips.

4.5/5

  • Handling is easily one of the highlights of the Thruxton 400 and something you feel right away.
  • The wheelbase of 1376 mm strikes that perfect balance between stability and agility; it makes the bike feel planted without being heavy.
  • Quick direction changes feel natural, and the bike responds smoothly to even small steering inputs.
  • Braking is handled by a 300 mm front disc and a 230 mm rear disc. The dual channel ABS ensures controlled stops even during sudden braking.

Triumph Thruxton 400 - Brake

  • The lever feel is progressive, giving you confidence whether you're riding at slow city speeds or braking from higher speeds on open roads.

5/5

  • Like most café racers, the Thruxton 400 isn’t designed for carrying luggage, and you’ll need to add on accessories if you plan to tour.
  • But daily practicality is still strong, it has smooth power delivery, a friendly seat height, and a light clutch feel.
  • The 13 litre fuel tank offers a comfortable range for everyday travel and weekend rides.

Triumph Thruxton 400 - Fuel Tank

  • You don't get Bluetooth, navigation, or cruise control, which might disappoint the riders who want a feature rich setup.

4/5

The Triumph Thruxton 400 is a solid pick for riders who want classic styling but want the ease and reliability of a modern machine. It brings a refined engine, smooth handling and a premium feel that immediately stands out on the road. The bike works well for new riders exploring the retro segment and experienced riders seeking a stylish everyday motorcycle.

It may not match touring-focused bikes or tech-heavy models in features or storage. But if you value pure riding pleasure, clean café racer aesthetics and a polished overall experience, the Thruxton 400 fits that need perfectly.
