Royal Enfield is one of the most iconic motorcycle brands in the world. The brand is known for its distinctive design, retro styling, and robust build. Originally a British company, it is now a wholly Indian-owned brand under Eicher Motors.

Royal Enfield all bikes offer a unique riding experience characterised by torquey engines and a classic, laid-back vibe. The brand caters to various rider needs, ranging from daily commuting to long-distance touring and off-road adventures. Royal Enfield Bikes History & Modernisation

The history of Royal Enfield dates back to 1893, when it was founded as the Enfield Cycle Company in the United Kingdom. The first ever-produced Royal Enfield bike was the ‘Motor Bicycle’, manufactured in 1901. Moreover, the Bullet was one of its most iconic models. The Indian government selected it in the 1950s for military use.

To support this demand, the company partnered with Madras Motors in Chennai to form Enfield India. By 1962, all motorcycle components were manufactured locally. In 1994, Royal Enfield was acquired by Eicher Motors, an Indian company known for commercial vehicles. This marked the beginning of its modernisation.

The brand introduced fresh designs, updated engine platforms, and modern features like TFT displays with Google Maps integration. Royal Enfield now focuses on 350cc, 450cc, and 650cc engines, offering everything from retro cruisers to adventure bikes.

Furthermore, the two major manufacturing plants in Tamil Nadu (Oragadam and Tiruvottiyur) support production, with the former handling most large-scale output. The brand also has a significant international footprint, selling in over 60 countries and surpassing Harley-Davidson in global sales in 2015.

Royal Enfield Bikes User Reviews

Royal Enfield Bullet 350

The Bullet 350 Suits My Riding Style

I spend a fair amount of time riding the Bullet 350, and the comfortable seat is something I value once the ride gets longer. I can stay in one position without feeling the need to keep adjusting myself. My phone usually comes along too, so the USB charging port has been useful when the battery gets low. I simply plug it in and continue riding. These are small parts of the bike, but they fit naturally into how I use the Bullet 350.

Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650

The Super Meteor 650 Feels Relaxed

The Super Meteor 650 feels best when I am not in a hurry. Its wide seat gives me plenty of room, while the relaxed posture lets me sit comfortably for a longer ride. When the road opens up, the bike can reach 145 Km/h, so I know there is plenty of speed available. Still, that is not how I usually ride it. I prefer sitting back, keeping a steady pace, and enjoying the ride. The laid back riding position is what makes me want to stay out longer.
