27 Mar 2025

Royal Enfield Classic 650 Summary

The Classic 650 price starts from Rs. 3.61 Lakh lakh for its standard variant and goes up to Rs. 3.75 Lakh lakh for its top model. This cruiser motorcycle is available in 3 variants with different colour options for each variant.

This Royal Enfield bike is inspired by the older Classic models, but it has a bigger engine and better features. Riders who like long rides and strong bikes will enjoy this motorcycle. Moreover, it is also expected to become one of the top 650cc bikes for touring in India.

The Classic 650 is a spiritual successor to the Classic 500. Royal Enfield first unveiled it on 5th November at EIMCA 2024. Then, it debuted in India on 22nd November at Motoverse 2024 in Goa. After all of this, it was launched in India on 27 March 2025.

Royal Enfield Classic 650 Price in India

The Classic 650 price starts from Rs. 3.61 Lakh lakh for its Hotrod variant. There are two more variants, which are Classic and Chrome, that are priced at Rs. 3.41 lakh and Rs. 3.50 lakh. All are ex-showroom prices.

There are a total of 4 colour options available for this motorcycle. However, each variant has its unique colours. The Hotrod Variant comes with two choices, which are Bruntingthorpe Blue and Vallam Red.

On the other hand, the Classic and Chrome variants come with single colour choices, which are Teal and Black Chrome, respectively. Overall, all the Classic 650 colour options are eye-catching. You can check Classic 650 images on our website to choose the colour according to your preference.

Royal Enfield Classic 650 Engine

The Classic 650 Royal Enfield features a 647.95cc inline twin-cylinder 4-stroke, SOHC engine. With this powertrain, the bike generates 34.6 kW @ 7250 rpm and 52.3 Nm @ 5650 rpm torque. This engine is the same as the one used in the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650

In addition, the bike uses a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch, which helps in smooth gear shifting, even at high speeds. Apart from this powerful engine, the RE Classic 650 top Speed is also impressive. The bike runs at a peak speed of 157kmph.

Royal Enfield Classic 650 Mileage

The Royal Enfield Classic 650 mileage is around 25 kmpl. The mileage may change depending on how you ride and where you ride. City rides may give lower mileage, while highway rides can give better numbers.

In addition, the fuel tank capacity of Classic 650 is 14.7 litres. This is a good amount of capacity for a bike in the 650cc segment.

Royal Enfield Classic 650 Specifications

The Royal Enfield Classic 650 specifications include hydraulic disc brakes on both front and rear wheels. It also comes with dual-channel ABS for enhanced safety. The suspension configuration features telescopic forks at the front and twin shock absorbers at the back. As a whole, this configuration provides a smooth and comfortable ride.

The Classic 650 weight is approximately 243 kg, which makes the bike sturdy and stable on the road. Furthermore, its 800mm seat height is accommodating for the majority of Indian riders, so it is not challenging for short riders to manoeuvre through traffic and on highways.

Royal Enfield Classic 650 Top Features

The Royal Enfield Classic 650 has a lot of interesting features. One of them is the semi-digital instrument console that shows the fuel level, gear position, and the distance covered.

The bike also has a USB Type-C charging interface, which comes in handy to charge your phone on the move. The mobile connectivity and the Tripper Navigation system will accompany you on your long journeys and keep you on the right track.

Another significant feature is dual-channel ABS, which enhances braking and prevents skidding. You also have adjustable levers to suit your hand size and comfort while riding.

The bike is equipped with an LED Casquette light and tiger lights, which provide a classy look. These lights are extremely bright and extremely useful in nighttime rides. One of the unique aspects of this bike is that you can even detach the subframe and pillion seat. This adds a touch to the bike with a single-seat appearance.

Finally, the chrome twin exhaust contributes to the vintage character of the motorcycle, which not only looks good but also produces a strong sound. Overall, the Classic 650 price is totally worth it with these features.

Royal Enfield Classic 650 Expert Opinion

“The Classic 650 is a great choice if you love the look of the Classic 350 but want more power for long rides. It feels smooth, sounds nice, and is very comfortable for both city and highway use. It’s a bit heavy and the rear suspension feels a little stiff on bad roads. But overall, it’s a well-made bike with a premium feel that mixes retro style and modern features nicely.”

4/5

The Royal Enfield Classic 650 is a motorcycle that blends old-school charm with modern performance. It’s larger, heavier, and more refined, with a twin-cylinder engine that feels smooth and confident, especially on long rides.

Royal Enfield Classic 650 - Overview

We got to ride the bike through the twisty highway roads, which really helped us understand its true character. It's a bike that makes you slow down, enjoy the ride, and soak in the attention you’ll get from every direction. Let’s know more about this 650cc Classic bike.

4.5/5

  • The Classic 650 feels like a bigger and bolder version of the Classic 350. It keeps that familiar vintage charm with its round headlight, teardrop-shaped fuel tank, and twin exhaust pipes.

Royal Enfield Classic 650 - Exhaust

  • We rode the Black Chrome variant, and let us tell you, it grabbed attention everywhere we stopped. The chrome work really stands out and gives the bike a very premium vibe.
  • Royal Enfield has done a great job with the details. Things like the chrome switch cubes, polished handlebar clamps, and neatly finished panels show how much effort has gone into the design.

Royal Enfield Classic 650 - Handlebar

  • However, one small thing that did catch our eye was the gap between the rear fender and the tyre. It’s not a major issue, but it disrupts the clean flow of the design slightly.
  • From the paint finish to the welding and overall fitment, feels top-notch. This definitely feels like the most premium Classic yet.
  • The seat height is 800mm, which is quite friendly for most riders. The seat itself is wide and comfy for both rider and pillion. Even after hours of riding, we never felt tired.

Royal Enfield Classic 650 - Seat

  • You sit in a relaxed posture due to the slightly forward footpegs and wide handlebars. It gives off a nice cruiser-like feel.
  • We rode over 300km in a day, and not once did we feel cramped. It’s really built for long highway rides.

5/5

  • The 647.95cc twin-cylinder engine is one of the bike’s biggest highlights. It feels smooth and refined, with just the right amount of punch for everyday riding and highway cruising.

Royal Enfield Classic 650 - Engine

  • Out on twisty roads, the torque really shines. Overtaking slower vehicles was super easy, and we could comfortably sit at 100 to 120 kmph without the engine feeling stressed.
  • Now, the Classic 650 weighs 243kg. You definitely notice that when you're trying to push it around in a parking spot or taking a tight U-turn.
  • But once you're on the move, the weight almost disappears. The bike handles surprisingly well for its size and feels nicely balanced.
  • This engine isn’t aggressive or sporty, but that’s not what it’s meant to be. It’s smooth, relaxed, and perfect for soaking up long rides at a calm pace.
  • The gearbox feels slick and slots into each gear nicely. The only thing we noticed is that the clutch is on the heavier side, which might feel tiring in stop-and-go city traffic.
  • In our test, the Classic 650 returned a mileage of around 19 to 20 kmpl, depending on how and where you ride.
  • With a 14.7 litre tank, you can expect a real-world range of about 300 to 350 km before needing to refuel.

Royal Enfield Classic 650 - Fuel Tank

4.5/5

  • The Classic 650 comes with the same semi-digital console that you get on the Classic 350. It’s simple, easy to read, and gives you all the info you need without feeling cluttered.
  • The LED headlamp does a decent job at night. It lights up the road well enough, though there are brighter setups out there if nighttime riding is a priority.

Royal Enfield Classic 650 - Headlight

  • You also get the Tripper navigation pod as standard, which is really handy. It gives you turn-by-turn directions and connects to your phone via Bluetooth for added convenience.
  • Small but useful features like adjustable levers, a USB Type-C charging port, and dual-channel ABS make it practical for daily use and long rides alike.
  • The Classic 650 comes with spoke wheels and tubed tyres. There’s no tubeless option yet, which could be a bit tricky to deal with in case of a puncture.

Royal Enfield Classic 650 - Tyre

5/5

  • For such a big bike, the Classic 650 actually handles corners really well. We rode it through winding ghats and twisty roads, and it felt surprisingly composed and confident.
  • The upright riding posture, combined with the wide handlebars, gives you a great view of the road and keeps you comfortable even on long rides.
  • The rear suspension feels a bit stiff on bumps and doesn’t absorb shocks well over rough roads.

Royal Enfield Classic 650 - Front Suspension

  • The brakes are pretty solid too. There’s a big 320mm disc at the front and a 300mm at the back. The rear brake feels nice and progressive.

Royal Enfield Classic 650 - Brake

  • The front brake works well too, though we wish it had a bit more bite right at the start. But overall, the braking performance feels confident and safe.
  • The tyres also do a decent job. The 19-inch front and 18-inch rear wheel setup offers a nice balance between stability and agility.

Royal Enfield Classic 650 - Switch

4/5

Royal Enfield Classic 350 is not a hardcore performance machine, but it doesn’t try to be one. At Rs. 3.37 lakh to Rs. 3.50 lakh (ex-showroom), it sits between the Interceptor and Super Meteor. It’s about cruising and a masculine feel. If that’s what you’re looking for, this motorcycle absolutely delivers.
