Royal Enfield showcases the Shotgun 650 X Rough Crafts Drop at EICMA 2025

The Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 price has increased by up to Rs 27,889.

15 Sept 2025

Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 Summary

Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 price starts from Rs. 3.94 Lakh (ex-showroom). This motorcycle is designed as a factory custom bobber and fits in Royal Enfield's 650cc segment. At present, the bike is offered in 3 variants. In this category, the Shotgun 650 faces rivals with Kawasaki Vulcan S, Benelli 502C, and Harley Davidson X440.
The Shotgun 650 was officially launched in early 2024 and sits on the same platform as the Super Meteor 650. It features a unique tank design, chunky tyres, and minimal body panels that highlight its custom look. Royal Enfield offers the Shotgun in bold colours that include matte, dual-tone, and metallic finishes. It’s a street-ready bike made for people who enjoy distinct design and relaxed rides.

Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 Price in India

The Shotgun 650 is available in 3 variants: Custom Shed, Custom Pro, and Custom Special. Each variant differs in styling and paint quality. The base Custom Shed variant starts at Rs. 3.94 Lakh, while the Custom Pro comes in at Rs. 3.78 Lakh and the Custom Special tops the range at Rs. 4.09 Lakh (ex-showroom).

Royal Enfield offers several colour choices such as Plasma Blue, Sheet metal Grey, Stencil White, and Drill Green. These finishes make the bike stand out while maintaining its low-slung character.

Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 Engine Performance

The bike has a 648cc parallel-twin, air-oil cooled engine that makes 46.39 bhp @ 7250 rpmcc and 52.3 Nm @ 5650 rpm. This motor offers smooth acceleration and enough pull across all gears, whether you’re in the city or cruising on highways.

It gets a 6-speed gearbox paired with a wet, multi-plate clutch. This makes gear changes light and easy, especially in traffic. The Shotgun 650 top speed is around 170 kmph, which is decent for a bike of its type and weight.

Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 Mileage

The Shotgun 650 comes with a fuel efficiency of around 22 kmpl, which is fair for a 650cc motorcycle. It comes with a 13.8-litre tank, giving a riding range of about 304 km. The tank design is flat and wide, matching the bike’s custom theme.

Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 Key Features

The Shotgun 650 comes with a round LED headlight, LED indicators, and a compact tail light, all adding to its custom bobber style. The instrument cluster is a semi-digital unit that includes analogue speedometer, fuel gauge, trip meter, gear indicator, and clock. A separate Tripper navigation pod is available as an accessory for turn-by-turn guidance.

Other key additions include USB charging, engine kill switch, and hazard lights. The handlebar is wide and slightly raised, which gives a relaxed and upright riding posture. Although the bike doesn't offer riding modes or Bluetooth as standard, the existing setup is simple and easy to use.

Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 Specifications

The Shotgun 650 is built using the same twin-cradle frame as other 650cc models. It features USD forks in the front and twin shock absorbers at the rear. Braking is handled by a 320mm front disc and a 300mm rear disc, with dual-channel ABS offered as standard.

It rolls on 18-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels, fitted with wide tubeless tyres for better grip and balance. The front tyre size is 100/90, while the rear uses a 150/70 tyre. The bike has a kerb weight of 240 kg and ground clearance of 140 mm, which is manageable for most riders.

Overall, the Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 delivers a unique design, solid build quality, and a relaxed riding experience. It’s a good choice for someone who wants a custom-styled bike without going through aftermarket modifications.

Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 Expert Opinion

“The Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 stands out with its unique bobber styling and solid road presence. It shares its engine with the Super Meteor but feels more suited for city rides and short tours. The bike offers great style, smooth performance, and enough comfort. Ideal for riders who want something different and eye-catching without spending too much.”

4/5

Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 is a motorcycle that blends classic styling with modern underpinnings. Built on Royal Enfield's 650cc parallel-twin engine, this bike offers a unique identity. It’s designed to stand out with its distinct styling and a road presence like bigger bikes. We have spent a lot of time with this motorcycle to help you out. Let’s explore what this bike offers.

Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 - Overview

5/5

  • The Shotgun 650 has that bold bobber look that instantly grabs attention.
  • With chopped fenders and a minimal rear section, it feels like you’re riding a custom bike straight out of a garage build show. It’s raw yet stylish.
  • The alloy wheels add just the right modern twist to its otherwise retro personality. They also make cleaning and maintenance easier.
  • The paint schemes are truly artistic. When we stopped at a fuel station, even strangers walked over just to ask, “What bike is this?”

Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 - Fuel Tank Side Look

  • The paint quality and detailing feel premium, especially under direct sunlight. It almost glows, that’s how good the finish is.
  • Parts like the mirrors, indicators, and switchgear feel familiar as they’re seen on other Royal Enfields, but that also means they’re reliable and easy to service.

Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 - Switch

  • That floating single seat? It not only looks great, but it also feels well-cushioned for solo rides. We did a 60-km city loop, and it felt supportive throughout.
  • If you need flexibility, you can always add the pillion seat or go for a luggage rack. On one ride, we swapped in a rear seat for a friend, and it worked fine.
  • Though built mainly for the city, it handles short tours and weekend highway rides comfortably. It cruised at 100 kmph without stress during our Sunday morning ride.
  • With plenty of metal around, the bike gives off a solid, premium vibe, especially when you park next to lightweight plastic-heavy bikes.
  • At 240 kg, it’s heavier than some others in the segment. But that added weight helps it feel more planted on open roads or when taking wide turns.

4.5/5

  • The Shotgun 650 gets a semi-digital instrument console, and it’s pretty easy to read even under sunlight. We paired our phone with the Tripper Navigation and followed turn-by-turn directions through a weekend trail. It worked smoothly without missing a beat.

Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 - Digital Console

  • There’s a USB port smartly placed near the handlebars, and we found it super handy when our phone battery dropped while using maps on a long ride. We just plugged in the cable and continued.

Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 - Indicator Switches

  • While the LED headlamp and tail light look sharp and feel modern. It’s a bit surprising that the turn indicators still use regular bulbs. On a rainy evening ride, we did wish for sharper visibility from the indicators.

Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 - Headlight

  • The bike comes with a cool single-seat layout by default, giving it that custom vibe. But during a short city hop with a friend, we attached the optional pillion seat. It clicked on easily and made the bike practical without losing its charm.

4.5/5

  • The 648cc twin-cylinder engine feels super smooth and relaxed. On a chilled evening city ride, the torque kicked in early, so we didn’t need to shift gears constantly.

Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 - Gear Shift Lever

  • With 46.39 bhp and 52.3 Nm of torque, the bike never feels short on grunt. Out on the highway, we cruised comfortably between 100–120 kmph and still had enough power left for quick overtakes.
  • Between 3000–5000 rpm, the engine feels at its best, smooth, refined, and just right for open stretches or twisty roads.

Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 - Engine

  • The 6-speed gearbox is slick, and the light clutch made our daily commute through stop-and-go traffic much easier. No wrist pain even after an hour of riding.
  • You can expect a mileage of around 20–25 kmpl. During our city run, it returned 21 kmpl, which is decent for a bike with this kind of power and engine size.
  • One minor issue we noticed while parking was that the wide foot pegs occasionally got in the way. In tight spots or when backing out, be mindful of your leg placement.
  • If you're carrying a pillion or some luggage, tall speed breakers need a bit of caution. With 140mm of ground clearance, we scraped slightly on a badly designed hump.
  • On rough roads, you’ll need to ride carefully. It’s not that the bike can’t handle it, but you’ll feel more comfortable and confident if you slow down a little.

4/5

  • The mid-set footpegs and wide, flat handlebars give you a very relaxed and natural riding posture. During our long city ride, we barely felt any strain on our backs or wrists.
  • With a seat height of 795mm, the bike was easy for most of us to hop on and off. Even a rider on the shorter side managed to flat-foot it confidently at signals.

Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 - Seat

  • The seat has a firm cushioning, which surprisingly worked well during a 100km weekend breakfast ride. We didn’t find ourselves shifting around to stay comfortable.
  • While riding solo, especially if you’re on the lighter side, the rear suspension does feel a bit stiff over speed bumps or sharp potholes. But once we added a pillion, the suspension settled better and felt more balanced.

Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 - Suspension

  • The detachable pillion seat comes in handy when you occasionally need to carry someone.

5/5

  • Even though the bike weighs 240kg, it didn’t feel heavy once we got moving. The motorcycle stays well-balanced, especially in city traffic.
  • While riding through busy streets, it felt quite nimble thanks to its short wheelbase and well-balanced weight.
  • On a weekend highway ride, the bike remained planted and stable, even at higher speeds of 100–110 kmph.

Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 - Tyre

  • The wide handlebars made navigating through traffic much easier. We could confidently squeeze through tight gaps.
  • While cornering around a twisty stretch, the bike felt stable, but leaning too far caused the pegs to scrape.
  • During a sudden stop, the rear ABS kicked in quite aggressively. It worked, but it did surprise us a bit.

Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 - Brake

  • The suspension setup is slightly on the firmer side, but it handled potholes and rough patches without making the ride uncomfortable.

4.5/5

If you want a stylish, attention-grabbing bike with enough power for both the city and highway, the Shotgun 650 is a great pick. It's ideal for someone upgrading from a Classic 350 or Hunter 350 and looking for something with more performance and a stronger identity. It’s the only proper bobber-style bike in its price bracket, which means you’re riding something truly unique without spending a huge amount.
