Bi-Weekly 2 Wheeler News: Kawasaki, TVS, Triumph And Ultraviolette Updates

The past two weeks brought several updates across India’s motorcycle market. Brands including Kawasaki, TVS, Triumph, and Ultraviolette made key announcements. Kawasaki launched the 2027 Vulcan S and Z650RS, while TVS added new features and variants to its Apache and Ronin range. In addition, Triumph introduced a new colour for the Scrambler 400 X and festive price cuts for the Speed 400 and Tracker 400, while Ultraviolette supplied 183 X-47 Skyforce electric motorcycles to the Kolkata Police.

2027 Kawasaki Vulcan S Launched With More Torque

Kawasaki has launched the 2027 Vulcan S in India at Rs 8.23 lakh (ex showroom). The updated cruiser continues with the same 649cc parallel twin engine, but now produces 62.4 Nm of torque, up from 61 Nm in the 2026 model. Power output remains unchanged at 61 hp.

In addition, the 2027 Vulcan S gets smaller brake discs and a new Metallic Carbon Gray colour with bluish green highlights. The front disc now measures 272mm, while the rear disc measures 216mm. The motorcycle retains its 705mm seat height, 235kg kerb weight and existing suspension setup. 

2027 Kawasaki Z650RS Launched in India

Kawasaki has launched the 2027 Z650RS in India at Rs 7.83 lakh (ex showroom). The new model remains largely unchanged from the previous version, with the same price, colour options, and mechanical setup. It continues with a 649cc parallel twin engine producing 67 bhp and 64 Nm.

The Z650RS retains its neo retro design with a round headlamp, twin pod instrument cluster, teardrop-shaped fuel tank, and golden alloy wheels. It also gets traction control, dual channel ABS, 41mm telescopic forks, and a preload adjustable monoshock, along with 17 inch wheels and disc brakes at both ends.

TVS Apache Lineup Gets New Features, Ronin Gets New Variant

TVS Motor Company has updated its premium motorcycle lineup with new features and variants ahead of the festive season. The Apache RTR 160 gets a Traction Control System, Hazard Lamps, and LED TSLs, while the RTR 160 4V and RTR 200 4V receive TFT displays with Google Map Mirroring, Panic Brake Alert, and Type C charging. The RTR 200 4V also gets adjustable USD front suspension.

In addition, the Apache RR 310 and RTR 310 now come with Black Diamond Editions featuring an all black look, while the RR 310 adds Keyless Ride. The TVS Ronin gets a new Base variant with dual channel ABS, while its Mid and Top variants receive feature updates. The updated motorcycles are available across TVS dealerships in India.

Ultraviolette X-47 Skyforce Joins Kolkata Police Fleet

Ultraviolette has introduced the X-47 Skyforce as a dedicated police motorcycle and supplied 183 units to the Kolkata Police. The new patrol variant is based on the X-47 Crossover and offers a 211 km IDC range, 36 HP power, and 145 km/h top speed. It also gets an upgraded electronic system to support police specific equipment.

In addition, the X-47 Skyforce comes with provisions for a siren, hooter, PA system, LED blinkers, mic holders, walkie talkie holders, and side panniers. The motorcycles have undergone testing before being deployed for regular policing duties. Ultraviolette says that this deployment is one of the largest electric motorcycle deployments by an Indian police force.

Triumph Scrambler 400 X Gets New Matte Grey Colour

Triumph has added a Matte Pewter Grey colour option to the Scrambler 400 X in India. The new shade comes with a Matte Khaki band on the fuel tank, giving the motorcycle a fresh look. However, there are no changes to its price or mechanical setup with this update.

The Triumph Scrambler 400 X continues to cost Rs 2.65 lakh (ex showroom) and uses the same 349cc liquid cooled engine producing 36.49 bhp and 32 Nm. It also retains its 19 inch front and 17 inch rear wheels, switchable traction control, and dual channel ABS.

Triumph Speed 400, Tracker 400 Get New Prices

Triumph has reduced the prices of the Speed 400 and Tracker 400 in India as part of a limited period festive offer. The Speed 400 gets a Rs 6,000 price cut, bringing its price to Rs 2.34 lakh, while the Tracker 400 gets a Rs 7,000 reduction and now costs Rs 2.42 lakh (ex showroom). The Speed 400 also comes with free accessories worth Rs 6,500.

Both bikes continue with the same 349.9cc single cylinder engine and six speed gearbox. The Speed 400 produces around 39.5 bhp and 30 Nm, while the Tracker 400 gets a different riding setup with clip on handlebars and a low slung seat. Other Triumph 400cc models continue at their existing prices.
