Kawasaki has launched the Z300 in India at Rs 3.24 lakh (ex showroom), introducing a new entry point into its Z series motorcycle range.
The street naked motorcycle made its Indian debut with aggressive styling, a 296cc parallel twin engine and a six speed gearbox. It shares its engine and several cycle parts with the Kawasaki Ninja 300.
The launch gives buyers another premium street motorcycle option, although its pricing places it above some established rivals.
The Kawasaki Z300 follows the Sugomi design language seen on the brand’s larger Z series motorcycles. Its styling includes an aggressive Z shaped headlight section, muscular tank extensions and a slim rear section.
The motorcycle also gets a stepped seat and alloy wheels with a simple design. Unlike the fully faired Ninja 300, the Z300 adopts a naked streetfighter layout.
Buyers can choose between two colour options:
The exposed engine and upright handlebar layout give it a different visual character from Kawasaki’s fully faired sports bikes.
The Kawasaki bike uses a 296cc, liquid cooled, parallel twin engine. It produces 39.4bhp at 11,000rpm and 26.3Nm of torque at 10,000rpm.
The engine comes paired with a six speed gearbox and a slip and assist clutch as standard. Kawasaki’s dual throttle valve technology is also included.
Key mechanical details include:
The 17 litre fuel tank could help riders plan longer journeys with fewer fuel stops. However, actual mileage will depend on riding conditions, traffic and throttle use.
The Kawasaki Z300 gets an LCD instrument console with essential riding information. It displays the speedometer, tachometer, fuel gauge, clock, odometer and two trip meters. A service indicator and coolant temperature readout are also available.
Suspension duties are handled by a 37mm telescopic fork at the front and a Uni Trak monoshock at the rear. The motorcycle rides on 17 inch alloy wheels at both ends.
Braking hardware includes a 290mm front disc and a 220mm rear disc. Dual channel ABS comes as standard, while ground clearance stands at 140mm.
At Rs 3.24 lakh, the Kawasaki Z300 costs Rs 30,000 more than the 2026 KTM 390 Duke. The KTM offers more electronic features, while the Z300’s twin cylinder engine could appeal to buyers prioritising refinement.
The Kawasaki Ninja 300 is another relevant alternative for riders who prefer a fully faired design.
For buyers, the Z300’s appeal will depend on engine refinement, everyday comfort and ownership costs. Its premium pricing makes a test ride and comparison essential before making a purchase decision.
