Kawasaki Z900 Expert Opinion

“Kawasaki Z900 is a well-rounded big bike that looks aggressive and feels premium. Its smooth inline-four engine is fun and easy to ride, and the electronics are helpful without being complicated. It’s fast, approachable, and works well for both new and experienced riders. Overall, it’s a great package offering strong performance, everyday usability, and lots of riding fun.”

4/5

The 2026 Kawasaki Z900 remains one of India’s most loved big bikes and now feels even more tempting. Kawasaki has not changed much, and honestly, it did not need to. The Z900 already delivers strong performance, solid quality, and easy everyday usability. The updates for 2026 are small but sensible, like new colours, a bit more power, and slightly lower weight.

Kawasaki Z900 - Overview

It is still a true all-rounder that works in the city, on highways, and during weekend fun rides. Compared to rivals like the MT-09 and middleweight twins, it continues to offer excellent value for money.

5/5

  • The aggressive naked styling gives the Z900 a bold, sharp, and very muscular presence on the road.
  • Its high tail section adds a sporty touch and helps the bike look modern and dynamic.
  • The dipped LED headlamp design gives the Z900 a unique face and a strong streetfighter attitude.

Kawasaki Z900 - Headlight

  • Its fit and finish are excellent, and the overall quality feels premium, just as you expect from Kawasaki.
  • The upright riding posture keeps your back relaxed and reduces pressure on the wrists.
  • It also has wide handlebars that offer great leverage, which makes city riding and quick direction changes feel easy.

Kawasaki Z900 - Handlebar

  • With an 830mm seat height, the bike feels approachable and manageable for most Indian riders.

Kawasaki Z900 - Seat

  • The seat cushioning is on the firmer side and can feel uncomfortable during longer rides.

4.5/5

  • The 948cc inline-four engine feels extremely smooth, refined, and surprisingly easy to live with.

Kawasaki Z900 -Engine

  • It generates 123.6bhp, which allows hard acceleration but never feels scary or uncontrollable.
  • The strong 98.6Nm of torque ensures quick throttle response, even at lower engine speeds.
  • The bike’s power delivery is very linear, which makes riding in traffic smooth and stress-free.
  • Revised cam profiles help the bike feel stronger and more responsive in the low and mid-range.
  • The six-speed gearbox feels slick and works beautifully with the bi-directional quickshifter.

Kawasaki Z900 - Exhaust

  • The engine sound is deep and thrilling, turning into a sweet howl at higher revs.

4.5/5

  • The 41mm USD front forks offer a balanced setup that feels comfortable on most road surfaces.
  • The rear Horizontal Back-link with rebound damping and spring preload suspension handles bumps and rough patches well during everyday city riding.

Kawasaki Z900 - Suspension

  • It also has a stable and well-sorted chassis gives plenty of confidence at higher highway speeds.
  • Despite the 212kg kerb weight, the bike feels easy to manage once it is on the move.
  • Cornering feels predictable and safe, though it slightly understeers when pushed hard.
  • The braking setup offers decent initial bite but lacks strong stopping power overall.
  • Rubber brake lines dull the brake feel, and upgrading them would make a big difference.

5/5

  • The ride-by-wire throttle makes power delivery smoother and throttle control more precise.
  • The IMU-assisted traction control adds an extra layer of safety during spirited or aggressive riding.

Kawasaki Z900 - Indicator

  • Its cornering ABS increases confidence by keeping braking stable while leaning into turns.
  • The bike has multiple ride modes, which make it easy to adjust the bike’s behaviour to suit your mood.
  • The custom Rider mode lets you fine-tune traction and wheelie control settings.
  • The bi-directional quickshifter works cleanly and smoothly for both upshifts and downshifts.
  • Cruise control takes the stress out of long highway rides and steady cruising.
  • The five-inch TFT display looks modern and stays clear and easy to read at all times.

Kawasaki Z900 - Display

4/5

The Z900 continues to be a great big-bike choice in 2026. It offers strong performance, everyday comfort, and the premium quality Kawasaki is known for. The smooth inline-four engine alone makes it stand out in today’s market. Its pricing also makes it more attractive than many of its rivals.

Yes, the seat could be more comfortable and the brakes could feel stronger. The stock tyres are not ideal for very aggressive riding either. Still, these are small issues in an otherwise excellent package.

    Confident Cornering And Control

I enjoy how stable the Z900 feels on corners. The inverted front forks and rear horizontal back-link suspension absorb bumps nicely. The brakes come with dual channel ABS which feels quite reliable. Tubeless tyres provide strong grip, and the 17‑litre fuel tank keeps me going on longer trips without frequent refueling.
