Kawasaki has introduced a new motorcycle in its middleweight naked bike range. The company has launched the Kawasaki Z650 S in India at Rs 7.59 lakh (ex showroom). The new model gets updated styling, a redesigned lighting setup and additional features. In addition, deliveries have already started across the country.

The biggest update on the new Z650 S comes in its design. It follows Kawasaki's Sugomi styling language, which gives the motorcycle a sharper and more aggressive appearance. The redesigned headlight and tail-light take inspiration from the larger Kawasaki Z900.
Moreover, the motorcycle gets muscular body panels and a wider appearance. Kawasaki offers it in a single Pearl Blizzard White/Candy Lime Green colour combination. Its new design gives the middleweight naked bike a fresh look compared to the Kawasaki Z650.

This Kawasaki Bike also gets a new 4.3 inch colour TFT instrument console. It supports smartphone connectivity through the RIDEOLOGY THE APP MOTORCYCLE application. Riders can access vehicle information and riding logs through their smartphones.
In addition, the motorcycle gets Kawasaki Traction Control (KTRC), which helps manage rear-wheel slip. The company also offers its Kawasaki Quick Shifter (KQS) as an optional accessory. This system allows riders to shift up through the gears without using the clutch.
The new model weighs 193 kg (kerb), which makes it 5 kg heavier than the standard Z650.
Mechanically, the Kawasaki Z650 S continues with the same 649cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine. It produces 68 PS of power at 8,000 rpm and 64 Nm of torque at 6,700 rpm. The engine works with a 6-speed gearbox.
Furthermore, the motorcycle retains its existing suspension setup. It gets a 41mm telescopic fork at the front and a horizontal back-link monoshock at the rear.
However, Kawasaki has reduced the brake disc sizes. The front now gets twin 272mm discs instead of 300mm units. Meanwhile, the rear disc measures 186mm, compared to 220mm on the standard model.
Kawasaki has priced the new Z650 S at Rs 7.59 lakh (ex-showroom). This makes it Rs 33,000 more expensive than the standard Z650, which costs Rs 7.26 lakh.
With sharper styling, a new TFT display and smartphone connectivity, the Z650 S brings several updates to Kawasaki's middleweight naked bike range. However, buyers looking for engine upgrades will find the same powertrain as before.
