2027 Kawasaki Vulcan S Launched at Rs 8.23 Lakh, Gets Torque Back

Kawasaki has launched the 2027 Vulcan S in India at Rs 8.23 lakh (ex showroom). The updated cruiser gets a few changes over the 2026 model. However, Kawasaki has kept most of its mechanical parts and features unchanged.

The biggest update comes from its engine, which now produces more torque. The motorcycle also gets smaller brake discs and a new colour with green highlights.

2027 Kawasaki Vulcan S: What’s New?

The 2027 Kawasaki Vulcan S continues with the same 649cc parallel-twin engine. However, Kawasaki has increased its torque output compared with the 2026 model. The 2026 version produced 61Nm, which was 1.4Nm less than the earlier model. 

With the 2027 update, the company has restored the 1.4 Nm, and the engine now makes 62.4Nm of torque. The power output remains unchanged at 61hp, while the engine delivers its power and torque at the same rev range as before.

Smaller Brake Discs

The motorcycle continues with dual channel ABS and disc brakes at both ends. However, Kawasaki has reduced the size of both brake rotors. The front disc now measures 272mm, compared with 300mm on the 2026 model. Meanwhile, the rear disc measures 216mm instead of the earlier 250mm unit.

The suspension setup remains the same. The front gets a 41mm fork with 130mm travel, while the rear uses a linkage monoshock with 80mm travel and adjustable preload.

New Colour and Updated Price

The most noticeable visual change comes from the new Metallic Carbon Gray colour. It features subtle bluish green highlights and replaces the Metallic Flat Spark Black shade from the 2026 model. The cruiser continues with a 705mm seat height and 130mm ground clearance. Its kerb weight also remains unchanged at 235kg.

Kawasaki has priced the 2027 Vulcan S at Rs 8.23 lakh (ex showroom), which is Rs 10,000 more than the previous model. Deliveries will start from mid-September 2026. The motorcycle continues to have limited direct competition in India. However, the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 remains a more affordable alternative at Rs 4.05 lakh (ex showroom).
