Yamaha FZ-S FI

Yamaha FZS FI is a street motorcycle built for daily riding. It has a muscular design with a large fuel tank and bold tank shrouds. The LED headlight gives the bike a sharp and modern front profile. Each version includes unique styling and features to suit different riders. The Dlx version includes coloured alloy wheels, new graphics, and LED flashers.

The FZ-S FI has received many updates in India, including the ABS model launched in January 2019. Also, the brand launched the FZ-S Fi Hybrid V4 with a TFT display, Y-Connect, and navigation. The Hybrid version uses a motor generator for stronger initial acceleration. Overall, the FZS FI combines style, control, technology, and efficiency for everyday use.

Yamaha FZS FI price starts at Rs 1.31 Lakh (ex-showroom) in India. The pricing competes with the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, Bajaj Pulsar NS160, and Hero Xtreme 160R. The motorcycle’s features justify the cost for most daily riders. 

The bike also offers low running costs, which improves long-term value. Also, the Yamaha FZS FI colours include Metallic Grey, Matte Black, and Ice Fluo Vermillion and Cyber Green. 

Yamaha FZS FI Engine Performance

Yamaha FZS FI uses a 149cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine. It produces 12.2 bhp and 13.3 Nm of torque, depending on the model version. The engine feels smooth and refined in city riding. It also gets a 5-speed gearbox that shifts cleanly and helps maintain steady power.

The Hybrid version adds a starter motor generator for better acceleration. However, the bike loses power above 80 kmph during highway use. Moreover, the Yamaha FZS FI top speed reaches around 115 kmph in ideal conditions. The bike reaches 0 to 60 kmph in just 4.7 to 5 seconds.

The FZS FI offers strong ARAI-claimed mileage of 60 kmpl. Its 13-litre fuel tank supports long trips with fewer refills. Yamaha’s fuel injection system improves efficiency and power delivery. You can get an overall range of 650 Km on a full tank.

The FZ-S FI comes with LED lights for better visibility, and the Dlx version also gets LED flashers. It has a digital display that shows all important details, while the Hybrid model gets a clearer TFT screen. The bike supports Bluetooth so that riders can check alerts and ride data through the Yamaha app. 

Its safety features include single-channel ABS and a side-stand engine cut-off. The riding position feels relaxed because of the wide handlebars, and the seat is large, though slightly firm on long rides. The pillion seat feels a little cramped due to high footpegs.

The bike uses telescopic forks at the front and a preload-adjustable mono-shock at the rear. It also comes with a 282 mm front disc and a 220 mm rear disc with single-channel ABS. The FZ S FI kerb weight is 137 kg and has a seat height of 790 mm. The wheels are alloy units, and the tyres are tubeless for better convenience.
