Honda CB500 Launched In India: Price And Key Details

Honda has launched the Honda CB500 in India at Rs 2.75 lakh (ex showroom). The new retro roadster is available in three variants. The CB500 is offered with alloy and spoke wheel options, with bookings now open in India.

It gets a 501cc single cylinder engine and targets buyers looking for a larger roadster. The CB500 sits above Honda’s existing CB350 in the company’s retro motorcycle range.

Honda CB500 Price And Variants

Honda offers the CB500 in three variants, with prices depending on the wheel type and graphics.

The Honda CB500 motorcycle is available in four colour options. These include Pearl Igneous Black, Rebel Red Metallic, Mat Steel Silver Metallic and Pearl Deep Ground Gray.

Honda CB500 Design And Features

The CB500 follows a retro roadster design inspired by Honda’s existing CB family. It gets a round LED headlight and a teardrop shaped fuel tank.

The Honda bike also features minimal side panels and a single piece seat. Brushed aluminium engine finishes and a chunky exhaust add more visual detail.

The CB500 uses a steel tube frame with conventional telescopic front forks. It gets twin rear shock absorbers and disc brakes at both ends.

Dual channel ABS is also available as standard safety equipment. This will offer added braking confidence during regular city and highway riding.

Honda CB500 Engine And Rivals

The Honda CB500 uses a 501cc single cylinder, air oil cooled engine. However, Honda has not disclosed the engine’s power and torque figures yet.

The larger engine places the CB500 above the CB350 in terms of displacement. However, its single cylinder layout separates it from twin cylinder motorcycles in the same price range.

The CB500 competes with motorcycles such as the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and BSA Gold Star 650. Buyers can also consider other roadsters around this price point, depending on their preferred engine size and riding style.

The new CB500 gives Honda buyers another retro roadster option between the existing CB range and larger motorcycles. Its Rs 2.75 lakh starting price makes the alloy wheel version the entry point.
