Honda SP 125 is a practical commuter, smooth to ride, fuel-efficient, and fairly comfortable. The 2025 model is like a sportier version of the Shine 125. It gets sharper styling and more features, helping it stand out in the 125cc segment. It's one of the first bikes in this class to combine a commuting nature with a sporty vibe.
Today, we’re checking out the 2025 Honda SP 125, which is the brand's fresh take on a sporty, tech-packed commuter in the 125cc segment. It’s built to provide stylish looks, solid performance and great fuel efficiency all in one package. Let’s explore more and see what this bike has to offer.

The SP 125 has come a long way from the old Shine SP. Now, it actually looks sporty. When you look at it, the sharp-looking LED headlight really stands out. The tank extensions give it an aggressive feel, and there’s even a small visor at the front that adds a lot of character. Moreover, we took the ride on the new Matte Marvel Blue colour, which looks super clean and classy.

The M-shaped LED tail light at the back is a unique touch. Furthermore, the 5-spoke alloy wheels really make the vehicle stand out. Honda’s clearly trying to win the style game here and for a commuter, it’s doing a damn good job.

Now this is where the SP 125 really surprised us. On the top-end DLX model, you get a TFT display with Bluetooth, which is wild for a 125cc bike. It displays information such as real-time mileage, service reminders, average mileage, distance to empty, gear position, two trip meters, and basic data. You can also connect it with the Honda RoadSync app for navigation, music control, call/message alerts, and even voice commands.

You also get some handy features like a USB Type-C charger, a gear position indicator, real-time mileage info, and distance to empty. But the feature that really makes you go “wow” is the idle stop-start system. It automatically turns off the engine at signals to save fuel. This feature is super useful when you’re riding around in the city.

The SP 125 is powered by a 123.94cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine with Honda’s PGM-FI fuel-injection technology. The bike produces approximately 8 kW of power and 10.9 Nm of torque. It’s pretty much the same as the Shine 125, but Honda’s tuned it a bit sportier this time. When you’re riding around town, it feels peppy enough. You can comfortably cruise in 3rd gear at 30-35 kmph without the engine feeling like it’s struggling.

Shifting gears on this bike is super smooth, and the clutch feels really light. The silent ACG starter is a great feature based on the ‘Quiet Revolution’ theme. During our ride, there was no annoying crank noise at all. It’s perfect for office-goers or students needing a low-key, hassle-free start to early mornings.

Honda claims it can achieve 65 to 70 km per litre. In real-world riding, we got a fuel economy of about 60 to 63 kmpl. That’s pretty solid, especially with fuel prices these days. This bike’s gonna save you some serious money in the long run.
This bike feels really lightweight andweighs just about 116 kg. In city traffic, the motorcycle went zipping through tight gaps effortlessly. When you ride, your posture stays upright with your hands comfortably placed on the handlebars, and the centre-set footpegs keep your feet in a natural position.

Additionally, the low 790mm seat height means that if you’re around average height or shorter, you can easily place your feet on the ground. The seat is also nicely padded, which makes the SP 125 pretty comfortable to ride. You get enough room to move around and settle in, which really helps on longer rides.

The suspension is pretty comfortable overall. The front forks soak up bumps nicely, while the rear feels a bit firm when riding alone, but smooths out well with a passenger. It handles small potholes and rough patches like a pro. Apart from this, the DLX model features a front disc but lacks ABS, instead having a CBS (combined braking system).

Now, the SP 125 goes up against the likes of the TVS Raider 125, Hero Glamour, and the newer Hero Xtreme 125R. The Raider is sportier and the Xtreme has more punch, but the SP 125 is balanced. It’s got enough style, great tech, high mileage, and the Honda trust.

The brand has a massive service network across India. Maintenance is affordable, parts are easily available, and you get Honda’s classic reliability. So, you can buy this bike for the long term.
If you’re a student, office goer, or just want a no-nonsense daily ride that looks great, saves fuel, and comes packed with features, the Honda SP 125 is a super solid pick. It’s not the fastest. It’s not the most aggressive. But it gets the job done with comfort, class, and reliability. And that’s what makes it a winner in the real world.
