Bajaj Pulsar 125 Engine Performance

The Pulsar 125 is equipped with a 124.4cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. It produces 11.64 bhp of power at 8500 rpm and 10.8 Nm of torque at 6500 rpm. This gives you quick acceleration and enough power to tackle daily city rides with ease.

Furthermore, the bike uses Bajaj’s DTS-i engine technology, known for efficient fuel delivery and performance. The 5-speed gearbox is smooth and helps maintain good control at all speeds. Moreover, the Bajaj Pulsar 125 max speed is around 100 kmph.

The Pulsar 125 comes loaded with useful and modern features that enhance your riding experience.

  • The fully digital instrument cluster shows all essential ride data clearly and neatly.
  • The Bluetooth connectivity helps you pair your phone and receive call or message alerts.
  • A USB charging port lets you charge your devices on the go, adding daily convenience.
  • The Combined Braking System (CBS) improves safety by distributing braking force to both wheels.
  • An engine kill switch allows quick shutoff during traffic or emergencies.
  • Hazard warning indicators come in handy when parked on the roadside or in poor visibility.
  • The stylish Carbon Fibre Edition features new graphics for a sportier look.
  • These features make the Pulsar 125 more than just a basic commuter bike. They add value and convenience to your everyday rides.

Bajaj Pulsar 125 Specifications

The Pulsar 125 feels both light and strong. It’s made with solid parts but is still easy to handle and maintain, which is perfect for daily use. The bike has telescopic forks at the front and twin gas-charged shock absorbers at the rear. This setup offers a smooth, balanced ride even on rough roads.

Some variants get a 240mm front disc, while all come with a rear drum brake. The braking feels safe and dependable. You get tubeless tyres and 17-inch alloy wheels that handle well in city traffic. At around 140 kg, the motorcycle’s light enough to push or ride through tight spots easily.

The Pulsar 125 also has a 165 mm ground clearance, so speed bumps and bad roads aren’t a problem. The 1320 mm wheelbase and single down tube frame give it a stable and comfortable ride. The Bajaj Pulsar 125 seat height is 790 mm, which suits most riders. It corners confidently and stays stable at highway speeds.

Bajaj Pulsar 125 Expert Opinion

“The Bajaj Pulsar 125 gives a bigger bike vibe at an affordable price. It looks tough, rides smoothly, and handles daily traffic with complete ease. Sure, the Pulsar 125 is not loaded with high-tech stuff, but for city and occasional weekend rides, the bike does the job well. It still has that Pulsar charm we all grew up with.”

4/5

Bajaj Pulsar 125 has always been one of the most talked-about entry-level sporty commuters in India. In 2025, the bike still holds on to that familiar Pulsar DNA. We spent a couple of weeks riding the Pulsar 125 through daily commutes, short highway rides, and city errands. And honestly, it didn’t take us long to understand why this bike still has such a strong following.

Bajaj Pulsar 125 - Overview

The Pulsar 125 shares its muscular design and road presence with the Pulsar 150. The bike also gets the same strong design, similar hardware, and the same road presence. This makes it a great choice for first-time buyers wanting a sporty look on a budget. Let’s know what we have discovered about this bike.

5/5

  • The Pulsar 125 looks exactly like the Pulsar 150, which is great if you want a more muscular and premium design in the 125cc segment without paying extra.
  • We really liked how the tank looks bulky and gives the bike a more serious presence on the road, especially when parked next to other 125cc bikes.
  • You get attractive paint schemes with neon accents and a carbon fibre look, which adds some flair to the otherwise familiar design.
  • The bike still uses halogen headlamps, which work okay, but we wish it came with LEDs, especially when some rivals have started offering them.

Bajaj Pulsar 125 - Headlight

  • The overall build quality is solid. Panels feel well put together and paint quality doesn’t fade quickly, even in extreme weather conditions.
  • While the overall design feels solid and familiar, some rivals offer sharper, more modern styling at a similar price point.

Bajaj Pulsar 125 - Tail light

4.5/5

  • The upright and slightly sporty riding position feels natural and puts minimal stress on your back or wrists, even in longer rides.

Bajaj Pulsar 125 - Mudguard

  • We rode the Pulsar 125 through a busy 90-minute office commute, and the seat felt comfortable throughout. The cushioning strikes a nice balance.
  • Taller riders won’t feel cramped on this bike. There’s enough space to shift around a bit, especially if you go for the split seat variant.

Bajaj Pulsar 125 - Seat

  • The pillion seat is also decently sized and comfortable. We took a friend along for a short city ride, and they felt stable and relaxed.

5/5

  • The 124.4cc engine is peppy and smooth, especially in the low and mid-range. It never feels underpowered while riding in the city.

Bajaj Pulsar 125 - Engine

  • We often found ourselves riding in third gear through traffic without needing to downshift. That makes everyday commutes easier.
  • The engine doesn’t feel too stressed until you cross 75kmph. For city rides and short highway stretches, it’s more than enough.
  • On the highway, we cruised comfortably around 70-75kmph. But anything beyond that, and the engine starts feeling a bit strained.
  • The gearbox is fairly smooth. We did notice a slight clunk when shifting into first gear, but nothing too annoying.

4.5/5

  • During our mixed riding (city and short highway), the Pulsar 125 returned about 45-47 kmpl consistently, which is impressive for this category.
  • If you're mostly riding in city traffic, you can expect around 43 kmpl. On longer rides at steady speeds, we even touched 51 kmpl.
  • The 11.5-litre fuel tank gives you a range of over 530 km, which is great for a commuter bike.

Bajaj Pulsar 125 - Fuel Tank

4/5

  • The semi-digital instrument cluster is easy to read even in bright sunlight. It shows speed, fuel, trip meter, and gear position.

Bajaj Pulsar 125 - Digital Display

  • The illuminated switchgear adds a premium feel, especially at night. It’s a small but nice touch.
  • Some variants now come with Bluetooth support for SMS and call alerts, which is handy, but we do miss turn-by-turn navigation.

Bajaj Pulsar 125 - Indicator

  • The USB charging port was super useful on longer commutes when our phone battery was running low.
  • While the features are basic compared to premium rivals, they still get the job done.

Bajaj Pulsar 125 - Exhaust

4.5/5

  • In city traffic, the Pulsar 125 feels light and easy to handle. You can easily take quick U-turns and lane changes.
  • Despite its 142 kg kerb weight, it doesn’t feel heavy when you’re riding slowly or parking in tight spots.
  • The suspension is tuned for everyday comfort. It absorbs most road imperfections well, though sharp bumps still make their way to the seat.

Bajaj Pulsar 125 - Suspension

  • We rode over speed breakers and broken roads and the ride remained reasonably comfortable.
  • The combined braking system (CBS) works reliably for city use. It helps bring the bike to a stop in a controlled way.
  • The front disc brake has good stopping power, but we wished for a bit more bite and feedback, especially during emergency braking.

Bajaj Pulsar 125 - Brake

  • The rear drum brake works fine, but it locks up easily if you're not careful, especially when riding with a pillion.
  • Sadly, there’s no ABS option, even for the front. That’s something Bajaj should definitely offer soon, considering the segment is evolving.

Bajaj Pulsar 125 - Clutch Lever

5/5

The Pulsar 125 is a great choice if you want a budget-friendly bike that still feels premium. It offers the look of a bigger bike, good fuel efficiency, and reliable everyday performance. While it’s not the most high-tech in its segment, it covers all the basics well.

Bajaj Pulsar 125 - Wind Shield

This motorcycle is comfortable for daily commutes, handles short rides easily, and doesn’t look too plain. Overall, the Pulsar 125 is a smart option for most riders due to Bajaj’s strong service network backing it.
