Honda has unveiled the redesigned 2027 CBR1000RR-R Fireblade at EICMA 2026 in Milan, Italy. The new supersport motorcycle receives major changes to its engine, chassis and aerodynamics. Interestingly, around 75% of its components are newly developed to improve its performance on the race track.
The updated Fireblade range includes three versions: the standard CBR1000RR-R Fireblade, the Fireblade SP with electronically controlled suspension, and the new CBR1000RR-R Fireblade HRC Works Edition. Each version gets a different equipment package to meet specific riding requirements. Moreover, the HRC Works Edition serves as a homologation model for the FIM Superbike World Championship (WSBK).

The standard Fireblade forms the entry point to the new range. However, the Fireblade SP adds electronically controlled suspension for improved adjustment while riding.
The third version, the HRC Works Edition, brings race-focused equipment and a dedicated aerodynamic package. Honda has developed this version to meet WSBK homologation requirements.
Powering all three versions is a familiar 999cc, liquid-cooled, inline-four engine. However, Honda has introduced a two-stage variable-length intake funnel system for the updated motorcycle.
This technology makes its first appearance on a mass-produced Honda motorcycle. It adjusts the intake length to improve low- and mid-range performance while maintaining strong power at higher engine speeds.
In addition, Honda has refined the throttle-by-wire system to deliver better throttle response and engine braking control.
The 2027 Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade gets a redesigned aluminium twin-tube frame. Honda has reduced its lateral rigidity by 20% while retaining its torsional rigidity. These changes aim to improve the motorcycle's handling on the track.
Perhaps the biggest equipment highlight comes with the HRC Works Edition. It gets carbon-fibre-reinforced front winglets, adjustable Ohlins suspension and Brembo Hypure brakes. Furthermore, this version supports an optional HRC racing kit and comes exclusively with a single-seat setup.
Honda has not yet announced the complete specifications, pricing or availability details of the 2027 CBR1000RR-R Fireblade. More information is expected as the company shares further details.
