Yamaha R15S

Yamaha R15S is a fully faired bike with aggressive looks and a relaxed riding seat. Yamaha has designed this bike for great performance and daily riding. It is fast, handles well, and behaves like an actual race bike and is borrowed from Yamaha's bigger R-series bikes.

The Yamaha R15S was launched in September 2015. It features a Deltabox frame, which is stable and sharp in turns. Also, this yamaha bike features a single seat, unlike the R15 V4, to provide greater comfort. Apart from this, the R15S’s top speed is around 136 kmph.

Yamaha R15S Price in India 

It has only one variant and comes with a price tag of around Rs. 1.54 Lakh (ex-showroom). The bike is a premium option in the 150cc segment. Additionally, the bike is available in two nice paint schemes: Racing Blue and Matte Black. The shades give the bike a sporty and aggressive look. It is slightly more affordable than the R15 V4 and is suitable for daily use.

Yamaha R15S Engine Performance

The Yamaha R15S is equipped with a 155 liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine. This engine comes with Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) technology. Moreover, the engine produces 18.1 bhp @ 10000 rpm and 14.2 Nm @7,500 RPM of torque. It's also paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. 

The gearshifts are smooth, and the bike comes with an assist and slipper clutch. This helps during aggressive downshifting and reduces clutch effort. Competitors like the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V, Yamaha R15 V4, and Bajaj Pulsar NS160 also feature advanced engine tech in this category, offering strong performance and smooth rides.

Yamaha R15S offers good mileage of around 47 kmpl. Apart from this, the fuel tank capacity is 11 litres. So, the bike can cover around 495 km on a full tank. This makes it suitable for long rides without frequent fuel stops.

The digital display indicates your speed, fuel level, gear number, and so on. Additionally, it features dual-channel ABS, which assists you in braking safely on any road.
