Yamaha Motor is celebrating its 70th anniversary this year. The company has announced a price reduction on one of its most popular motorcycles in India, the YZF-R15. As part of the anniversary celebrations, Yamaha has slashed prices by around Rs 5,000 across all R15 variants. This makes the sporty motorcycle more accessible to a wider set of buyers.

The Yamaha R15 S now starts at Rs 1,50,700 (ex-showroom). Meanwhile, the R15 V4 is priced at Rs 1,66,200, and the top-spec R15 M now costs Rs 1,81,100. These revised prices came into effect from January 5, 2026.
However, Yamaha has clarified that this anniversary pricing may be available only for a limited period. In addition, the reduced pricing brings the R15 closer to models like the XSR 155. This makes it an attractive option for riders who want a sporty yet practical motorcycle.

The Yamaha R15 has built a strong reputation over the years. It features a 155cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with VVA technology that produces 18.1 bhp and 14.2 Nm of torque. Moreover, it is paired with a six-speed gearbox, assist and slipper clutch, and a quick-shifter on select variants.
Perhaps the biggest strength of the R15 is its balance. While it delivers strong performance, it also remains fuel-efficient and easy to live with. The Deltabox frame, sharp handling, and premium hardware like USD forks, traction control, and riding modes further enhance its appeal.
