The Indian motorcycle market saw several exciting launches in 2025, especially for riders who enjoy performance and character without spending a fortune. Moving into 2026, the momentum appears to continue, with many brands preparing enthusiast-focused motorcycles that promise strong performance, modern features, and attractive pricing. What makes these upcoming bikes more appealing is that most of them are expected to remain under Rs 2 lakh (ex-showroom).

Hero MotoCorp is expected to introduce a more hardcore version of the XPulse 210, which is known as the Dakar edition. First shown internationally, this version focuses heavily on off-road riding. It comes with rally-style adjustable suspension, knobby tyres, and significantly higher ground clearance than the standard model. In addition, the improved suspension travel should help riders tackle rough terrain with more confidence.

Another major launch from Hero could be the Karizma XMR 250. Compared to the existing Karizma 210, this bike looks sharper and more aggressive. It uses a 250cc engine that offers higher power and torque, giving riders a clear upgrade in performance. However, the design remains practical enough for daily use, which makes it suitable for both city rides and highway runs.

Kawasaki may surprise Indian riders by launching the W230, a retro-style motorcycle aimed at budget-conscious buyers. It shares its engine with the KLX230 and offers simple mechanicals. In addition, expected localisation and revised tax rules could help Kawasaki price it competitively. If launched as expected, it could directly challenge popular retro bikes already on sale.

KTM is also preparing to launch the RC 160, which will serve as a direct rival to the Yamaha R15. Meanwhile, Ultraviolette plans to begin deliveries of its Shockwave electric enduro in early 2026. It will be the only electric option in the off-road segment. Although this category is still growing, an electric alternative could bring new interest to adventure riding.
