The past two weeks have brought several important updates in India’s two-wheeler market, with new launches, EV upgrades, and expansion plans making headlines. BGauss introduced the C12 MaxR electric scooter with a 178 km range, while Kinetic updated the DX and DX+ with bigger batteries and up to 132 km range. Jawa expanded its motorcycle range with the new All Stars 42 series, and Kawasaki launched the 2027 Versys 1100 at Rs. 13.89 lakh. Meanwhile, Yamaha reached 600 Blue Square showrooms across India, while Ultraviolette announced plans for a new 2.5 lakh-unit annual capacity plant in Hosur.
BGauss has launched the new C12 MaxR electric scooter in India at Rs. 1,45,990 (ex-showroom). It gets a 3.8 kWh LFP battery with a claimed 178 km IDC range, while the 4.2 kW motor delivers a top speed of over 75 km/h. The BGauss scooter also comes with Eco, Ride, and Sport modes, reverse mode, cruise control, and regenerative braking. BGauss offers a 1 lakh km battery warranty with the C12 MaxR.
The scooter focuses strongly on everyday usability, with under-seat storage for two helmets, an umbrella holder, wireless charging, and additional storage spaces. It also gets a 5-inch TFT display with navigation, call alerts, and connected features such as SOS, Securelock, and vehicle health checks. Other highlights include 12-inch alloy wheels, disc brakes, adjustable rear suspension, and full-LED lighting.
Jawa has launched the new All Stars 42 series in India with three motorcycles: the All Stars 42, All Stars 42 FJ, and All Stars 42 Bobber. Prices start at Rs. 1,84,942, while the 42 FJ and 42 Bobber are priced at Rs. 2,01,942 and Rs. 2,08,942, respectively. The All Stars 42 gets a 294.7cc engine producing 27.2 PS and 26.3 Nm, while the 42 FJ and Bobber use 334cc engines with outputs of 29.17 PS and 29.9 PS, respectively.
Each model has a different riding setup. The 42 focuses on a lower price; the 42 FJ gets a larger engine and a 320 mm front disc, while the 42 Bobber stands out with a 740mm low seat height, mono-shock setup, and 30 Nm of torque. With three motorcycles at different price points, Jawa now offers buyers options based on performance, seating position, and riding style.
Yamaha has inaugurated its 600th Blue Square showroom in India, expanding its premium retail network across the country. The Blue Square concept was introduced in 2019 and combines sales, service, parts support, accessories, merchandise, and customer engagement under one format. The wider network is aimed at making Yamaha’s premium motorcycles and scooters more accessible while also improving the overall ownership experience.
Yamaha says the Blue Square outlets also act as community hubs for riders through initiatives such as Blue Streaks. The network showcases models including the R Series, MT-15, AEROX 155, FZ Series, Fascino 125 FI Hybrid and RayZR FI Hybrid. According to Chairman Hajime Aota, reaching 600 outlets marks an important step in strengthening Yamaha’s presence and rider community in India.
Ultraviolette is planning to open a BIGGA (Big Global Ambition) Factory at SIPCOT Industrial Park in Shoolagiri, Hosur, Tamil Nadu. The plant will initially have an annual production capacity of 2.5 lakh vehicles, which can be expanded to 5 lakh units in the future. The facility will initially produce the Tesseract electric scooter, while upcoming sports, crossover, cruiser, street bikes and scooters will also be manufactured there. The first phase is expected to create around 2,000 jobs.
The new plant will feature digital manufacturing systems, collaborative robots, automated quality checks, vision-based inspections and a dedicated test track. Ultraviolette will continue operating its existing Bengaluru plant alongside the Hosur facility. The company expects the new factory to help increase production, meet growing demand and support its expansion into international markets.
Kawasaki has launched the 2027 Versys 1100 in India at Rs. 13.89 lakh (ex-showroom). The adventure tourer continues with the same 1,099cc inline-four engine, producing 135 PS and 112 Nm, paired with a 6-speed gearbox. It also retains adjustable suspension, twin front disc brakes, cornering ABS, traction control, cruise control and multiple riding modes. For 2027, the bike is offered in a single colour option.
Alongside the new launch of Versys 1100, Kawasaki is offering discounts on select non-E20 compliant motorcycles until September 30, 2026, to clear older stock. The Ninja ZX-10R gets benefits of up to Rs. 2.89 lakh, while the KLX230 RS and Ninja 300 receive benefits of up to Rs. 1.50 lakh and Rs. 28,000, respectively. Other models, including the Ninja 500, Ninja 650, Z650 and Z650RS, also get offers during the period.
Kinetic has introduced upgraded DX and DX+ electric scooter variants with bigger battery options and improved range. The DX 3 kWh is priced at Rs. 1,18,599, while the DX+ 3.1 kWh costs Rs. 1,27,650 (ex-showroom). The DX+ gets a 3.1 kWh LFP battery with a claimed 132 km IDC range, along with a 3.8 kW peak motor, while its real-world range is expected to be around 105 to 110 km.
The DX+ also gets features such as quick charging, Park Assist with Reverse, 37-litre storage, telematics and IP67 protection. It retains the all-metal body design and gets 12-inch wheels, a front disc brake and 165 mm ground clearance. Kinetic has also announced festive benefits, including discounts of Rs. 2,000 on the DX and Rs. 3,000 on the DX+, along with other cashback and warranty benefits.
