KTM 200 Duke to Get Quickshifter, Ride Modes and Traction Control

KTM has updated the 200 Duke with new features, including a bi directional quickshifter, ride modes and traction control. The updated motorcycle has appeared at a dealership ahead of its official launch. These additions follow earlier updates, which brought a larger front disc and lighter wheels to the motorcycle.

The latest changes aim to improve the riding experience without major changes to the engine or overall design. However, the new features may also lead to a small price increase.

KTM 200 Duke: What's New?

1. Gets a Quickshifter and Ride Modes

KTM 200 Duke Bike

The updated KTM 200 Duke now gets a bi directional quickshifter, which allows riders to shift gears up or down without using the clutch. In addition, the motorcycle features a ride-by-wire throttle, which supports different ride modes and traction control.

These features bring the 200 Duke closer to its larger siblings, the KTM 250 Duke and 390 Duke. The motorcycle also gets new right side switchgear, similar to the unit on the 390 Duke, while the left-side switchgear remains unchanged.

2. Engine and Hardware Remain Unchanged

KTM is likely to retain the existing 199.5cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. It produces 25hp at 10,000rpm and 19.3Nm of torque at 8,000rpm, paired with a 6-speed gearbox.

Furthermore, this KTM Bike appears to retain its 43mm upside-down front forks and WP rear monoshock. Its overall design also looks largely unchanged. However, KTM has not added cruise control to the updated model.

3. Price May Increase Slightly

The current KTM 200 Duke costs Rs. 2.06 lakh (ex showroom). According to sources cited in the initial report, the new features could increase its price by around Rs. 4,000. This means buyers may see a small price revision when KTM officially launches the updated motorcycle.

The Bajaj Pulsar NS200 remains a key rival, with a reported price of Rs. 1.60 lakh. While the Bajaj offers a lower starting price, the updated KTM 200 Duke adds more rider focused features to its package.
