Ducati Formula 73 Launched in India at Rs 20 Lakh

Ducati has launched the Formula 73 in India at Rs 20 lakh (ex showroom). This limited-edition cafe racer celebrates the Italian brand’s historic 750 Super Sport Desmo from 1973. Ducati has produced only 873 units worldwide, and all units allotted to India have already been booked.

Ducati Formula 73 Design and Features

The Formula 73 takes design inspiration from the 750 Super Sport Desmo, which followed Ducati’s victory at the 1972 200 Miglia di Imola race. It features silver and aqua-green paint with a gold stripe on the fuel tank. In addition, the bike gets clip on handlebars, bar end mirrors, a short front fairing and a tapered rear section.

The motorcycle also features billet aluminium levers, footpegs and a Rizoma fuel cap. Moreover, Ducati offers a special Termignoni exhaust developed for this model.

The Ducati Formula 73 uses an 803cc Desmodue L-twin engine that produces 73hp at 8,250rpm and 65.2Nm at 7,000rpm. It comes with a steel trellis frame, a 41mm KYB upside-down front fork and a preload-adjustable rear monoshock.

The bike weighs 183kg without fuel and rides on 17 inch spoked wheels with Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tyres.

Technology and Limited-Edition Details

The Formula 73 gets cornering ABS, traction control, a quickshifter and two riding modes. Furthermore, it features a 4.3 inch TFT display and full-LED lighting. Buyers can also choose heated grips and turn by turn navigation as accessories.

Each motorcycle carries a unique serial number on its steering plate and comes with a certificate of authenticity. In addition, Ducati includes a box containing historic photographs and design sketches from its Style Centre.

Ducati Formula 73 Price and Availability

Ducati has priced the Formula 73 at Rs 20 lakh (ex showroom) in India. However, buyers can no longer book an allotted Indian unit, as all units assigned to the country have already been taken. The Formula 73 combines classic Ducati styling with modern features, making it a special offering for collectors and fans of the brand’s racing history.
