Bi-Weekly 2 Wheeler Report: New Launches, Price Hikes and Feature Updates

The Indian two-wheeler market saw several important developments over the past two weeks. Manufacturers continued to focus on new launches, technology upgrades, price revisions and upcoming models across different segments. 

From electric scooters and premium motorcycles to popular 125cc bikes and adventure motorcycles, the period brought a mix of updates for buyers and enthusiasts. Here is a quick look at the major two-wheeler news from the last two weeks. 

BGauss Oowah Electric Scooter Targets Gen Z and First-Time Buyers

The newly launched BGauss Oowah electric scooter targets young riders and first-time EV buyers. It gets a 3.0 kWh removable LFP battery with an ARAI-certified range of 145 km. The removable battery of the Oowah allows users to charge it indoors, while four bright colour options add to its youth-focused design.

The electric scooter also comes with features such as reverse mode, distance-to-empty display, side-stand sensor, USB charging, full LED lighting and under-seat storage. With the launch, BGauss aims to reach more customers as electric two-wheeler adoption grows in India and offer a scooter that combines everyday features with a bold design.

2026 Ducati Monster Launched In India With New 890cc V2 Engine

Ducati has launched the 2026 Monster in India at a starting price of Rs. 13.99 lakh (ex-showroom). It gets a new 890cc V2 engine producing 111 bhp and 91.1 Nm, along with a lighter chassis and updated electronics. The range includes standard and Monster+ versions, with prices going up to Rs. 14.45 lakh.

The new Ducati bike weighs 175 kg, making it 4 kg lighter than the previous model. It also gets a 5-inch TFT display, four riding modes, six-axis IMU, cornering ABS, traction control, wheelie control, quick-shifter, and cruise control. The bike competes with the Triumph Street Triple 765 R, BMW F 900 R, and Kawasaki Z900.

TVS Orbiter V1 and V2 Get Price Hike in India

The Orbiter electric scooter prices have been increased in India. TVS Motor Company has increased the prices of its Orbiter electric scooter variants in India. The Orbiter V1 now costs up to Rs. 95,500 in revised states, while the V2 gets a hike of up to Rs. 4,000, taking its price range to Rs. 1.06 lakh to Rs. 1.13 lakh. Maharashtra continues with the old price for the V1, while the V2 gets the highest hike in the state.

Despite the price increase, TVS has not made any changes to the features or mechanical setup. The V1 continues with a 1.8kWh battery and 86km claimed range, while the V2 gets a 3.1kWh battery and 158km claimed range. Both variants offer a claimed top speed of 68 km/h along with Eco and City riding modes.

Ampere Magnus G Max Gets New Connected Features

Ampere has updated the Magnus G Max electric scooter with the new NxG.io software platform at Rs. 1,09,999. The Ampere Magnus G Max's latest updates include 30 connected features like cruise control, hill hold assist, turn-by-turn navigation, OTA updates, and several app-based functions through Ampere Connect.

The Ampere electric scooter continues with its 3kWh LFP battery and 2.4kW peak-power motor, offering a claimed 142km IDC range and over 100km real-world range. The new app features include charging and battery information, vehicle tracking, geofencing, theft alerts, remote diagnostics, and service booking, giving the Magnus G Max more connected technology without changes to its core powertrain.

Royal Enfield Himalayan 440 Launch on September 4

Royal Enfield Himalayan 440 is going to launch in India on September 4 at the Himalayan Basecamp in Leh, Ladakh. The launch will coincide with the 10th anniversary of the Himalayan 411. The new motorcycle will sit between the Scram 440 and Himalayan 450, using the Scram 440’s 443cc LS440 engine that produces 25.4 bhp and 34 Nm.

The Himalayan 440 is expected to focus on touring and off-road riding, with a 21-inch front wheel, telescopic fork, and rear monoshock. It could follow the functional design of the Himalayan 411 while offering more engine torque. Royal Enfield bike may be priced at around Rs. 2.50 lakh (ex-showroom), placing it between the Scram 440 and Himalayan 450.

2026 Hero Xtreme 125R Could Get TFT Display and TPMS

The 2026 Hero Xtreme 125R will come with new technology, including a TFT instrument cluster and tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS). The TFT screen could replace the current 4.2-inch colour LCD and may offer a better display along with additional functions. These updates could help the Hero Xtreme 125R bike compete with the TVS Raider 125, Bajaj Pulsar 125 and Honda CB125 Hornet.

The mechanical setup is expected to remain unchanged, with the bike continuing to use its 125cc engine producing 11.4 bhp and 10.5 Nm. The Hero bike will also retain features such as ride-by-wire, cruise control, dual-channel ABS, LED lighting, and monoshock suspension. The new TFT and TPMS could arrive on a higher-spec variant, which may also increase the current Rs. 91,500 to Rs. 1.08 lakh price range.
