Triumph has officially launched the Speed Triple 1200 RX in India. This new variant sits above the standard Speed Triple 1200 RS, bringing with it a sportier design, track-focused ergonomics, and a limited-edition badge.
The Speed Triple 1200 RX is priced at Rs 23.07 lakh, which is about Rs 1.31 lakh more than the RS variant. However, it is also limited to only 1,200 units worldwide, which makes it a truly exclusive motorcycle. Triumph has allocated just five units for India, so interested buyers will need to act fast. Let’s know more about this bike in detail.
The RX variant is built to deliver a more aggressive and focused riding experience. To achieve this, the clip-on handlebars sit 69mm lower and 52mm further forward compared to the RS. The foot pegs have also been raised by 14.5mm and moved 25.5mm rearward, creating a riding stance that suits track days or spirited canyon runs.
In addition, the RX stands out with its exclusive Triumph Performance Yellow and Granite paint scheme. This is paired with RX graphics, giving it a premium and distinctive appeal.
The RX continues to use Ohlins Smart EC 3.0 semi-active suspension at both ends. It features a USD fork at the front and a monoshock at the rear, both fully adjustable. There’s also an Ohlins SD EC electronic steering damper, which adds stability and control at high speeds. Furthermore, the bike gets a twin-disc setup with Brembo Stylema calipers, paired with a Brembo MCS radial master cylinder.
The Speed Triple 1200 RX uses the same 1,160cc inline-triple engine as the RS. It produces around 180.5 bhp at 10,750 rpm and 127 Nm at 8,750 rpm, mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a quickshifter for smooth and fast gear changes.
Additionally, the RX features a special Akrapovic exhaust system made of titanium and carbon fibre, which not only enhances its sound but also gives the bike a performance edge.
The RX carries over the electronics package from the RS. It includes five riding modes, including Rain, Road, Sport, Track, and Rider. Alongside this, it comes with cornering ABS, traction control, wheelie control, and cruise control.
Other handy features include a lightweight lithium-ion battery, keyless ignition, and Triumph’s signature single-sided swingarm, which further elevates its premium feel.
