KTM Launches 2025 390 Adventure X with Cruise Control & More

Published at July 10, 2025 | By BikeJunction

KTM has updated the 390 Adventure X for 2025, and it's packed with new features. This bike is priced at Rs. 3.03 lakh (ex-showroom). It now offers cruise control, cornering ABS, and three ride modes. All this for just Rs 12,000 more than the old version. If you're looking for a tech-loaded ADV at a great price, this might be the one. Let’s explore what’s new and what stays the same.

What’s New in the 2025 KTM 390 Adventure X?

The biggest upgrade in this new model is in the electronics. It now gets:

  • Cruise control: This bike is perfect for highway rides. You can activate or adjust it using the new switchgear.
  • Cornering ABS: This helps maintain control while braking in corners.
  • Cornering Traction Control: This KTM bike provides improved grip and stability in various riding situations.
  • Three Ride Modes: Choose from Street, Rain, and Off-Road, depending on the road or trail conditions.

Moreover, all these new features are powered by an IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit). This smart unit understands the bike’s lean angle and adjusts the electronics in real time. So, if you lean into a corner, the bike adjusts its traction and ABS to keep things safe.

The new model also borrows the updated switchgear from the top-end version. You get buttons for cruise control and a toggle to increase or decrease speed. Furthermore, KTM has replaced the old organic brake pads with sintered Brembo pads. This means better and sharper braking.

What’s Still the Same?

While the electronics have improved, the engine and mechanicals remain unchanged. The bike comes with a 398cc engine that produces 46PS and 39Nm. Moreover, the motorcycle is paired with a 6-speed gearbox.

The front forks and rear monoshock are the same as before. It still rides on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels. So, if you loved the 390 Adventure X for its rugged nature and comfortable touring traits, that hasn’t changed.

Value for Money or a Letdown for Old Buyers?

The 2025 390 Adventure X is just Rs 12,000 more expensive than before. And for that small increase, you get features usually reserved for the more expensive 390 Adventure S. Moreover, the new model is still Rs. 65,000 cheaper than the top-end version. That’s a big saving for similar electronic rider aids.

However, for people who recently bought the older model, this update might feel disappointing. Imagine buying a bike and, just months later, a much better version comes out. KTM should consider offering a retrofit kit or update for recent buyers. It would build goodwill and show that KTM values its early customers.
