Honda 2 Wheelers India has launched the Honda XR 300L and XR 300 Rally in India. The motorcycles cost Rs 1.83 lakh and Rs 2.08 lakh, respectively, ex showroom.

Both Honda bikes were showcased in July 2026 and are now available through Honda BigWing dealerships. Honda will manufacture both adventure motorcycles locally in India. Bookings have also started across the country. The XR 300L targets off road riding, while the XR 300 Rally focuses more on adventure touring and longer trail rides.

The two motorcycles use the same basic platform and engine, but their intended use differs.

The XR 300L is positioned for trails involving mud, gravel, sand and rocky surfaces. It gets wire spoke wheels and off road biased tyres.

The XR 300 Rally gets rally inspired styling, added wind protection and equipment suited to longer rides.

Engine and Hardware

Both motorcycles use a 293.5cc single cylinder air/oil cooled engine. Honda has not updated the official power figures on its website yet.

The engine is expected to produce 24 bhp and 25.6 Nm, based on the available information.

Key equipment includes:

  • Front and rear disc brakes
  • Switchable dual channel ABS
  • Gas charged Pro Link rear suspension
  • Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC)
  • Wire spoke wheels on the XR 300L

The XR 300 Rally also gets Honda RoadSync for connected features.

Rivals and Buyer Perspective

The Honda XR 300 duo enters a segment with several established options. Key rivals include the Hero Xpulse 210, Kawasaki KLX230 and TVS Apache RTX 300.

The XR 300L costs Rs 1.83 lakh, making it Rs 4,000 costlier than the Xpulse 210’s top price. However, Honda offers a larger 293.5cc engine.

The XR 300 Rally costs Rs 2.08 lakh and undercuts the Kawasaki KLX230 by Rs 11,000. That pricing could make Honda’s new ADV bikes worth considering for buyers seeking more engine capacity.

For daily city use, the XR 300L appears better suited to riders who also plan regular trail outings. The XR 300 Rally makes more sense for riders prioritising longer adventure rides.
