The updated scooter gets a new 5kW motor, a 3kWh LFP battery and an IP65 rated charger. It is available through Ampere dealerships nationwide. The Nexus EX+ targets buyers seeking more performance and connected features. It also offers a claimed 136km range on a full charge.
The Nexus EX+ is offered in two variants. The standard version costs Rs 1.30 lakh, while the Intellipack version costs Rs 1.36 lakh (ex showroom).
The connected technology package costs an additional Rs 6,000. Both versions are available in Carbon Knight and Steel Grey colours.
For buyers watching their budget, the standard version keeps the entry price lower. The Intellipack variant adds connected features for a modest premium.
The biggest mechanical update is the new 5kW mid mounted electric motor. It produces a claimed 202Nm of peak torque at the wheel.
Ampere claims a 0 to 40kmph acceleration time of 4.5 seconds. The electric scooter can reach a claimed top speed of 93kmph. The motor also offers improved gradeability, according to Ampere. This should help on steep climbs, flyovers, hilly roads and while carrying extra load.
The 3kWh LFP battery offers a claimed 136km range. The IP65 rated charger takes 3 hours and 10 minutes for a 0 80 percent charge.
The Ampere electric scooter also gets a claimed battery life of 2 lakh km and a five year or 75,000km battery warranty.
The Intellipack version connects with the Ampere Connect App. It adds more than 30 connected features.
The Nexus EX+ gets four ride modes: Eco, City, Power and Reverse. It also features a 6.2 inch digital instrument cluster.
Other equipment includes all LED lighting, 12 inch alloy wheels and 170mm ground clearance. The seat height stands at 765mm.
Suspension duties are handled by telescopic front forks and dual rear shocks. Braking uses a front disc and rear drum setup.
The Nexus EX+ enters a competitive electric scooter market. Buyers can also consider rivals such as the Ather 450X, TVS iQube and Ola S1 Pro.
Its new motor and 136km claimed range make the Nexus EX+ worth considering for daily city use. The Intellipack variant adds useful connected functions for riders wanting more technology.
