Weekly Bike News of the Week : KTM, Royal Enfield & More

This week was full of surprises for motorcycle enthusiasts in India. Major brands like KTM, Royal Enfield, and Ola Electric launched new bikes. Yamaha also celebrated a big milestone with its R15. Let’s take a look at the biggest updates from the world of two-wheelers.

Most Exciting Update From the Week

Yamaha India celebrated rolling out its 1 millionth YZF-R15 from its factory. First launched in 2008, the R15 remains a popular sports bike in India. The company held a special event at its Surajpur plant to mark this milestone.

Additionally, the Indian government reduced import duties on premium motorcycles. This move will make high-end bikes more affordable and encourage global brands to bring new models to India.

KTM Launches New Adventure Bikes

KTM India launched the 2025 KTM 390 Adventure at Rs. 3.68 lakh. It is Rs. 4,000, more expensive than the older top-spec SW variant. This new version is a more powerful and capable adventure tourer. KTM also introduced a road-friendly 390 Adventure X version priced at Rs. 2.91 lakh.

Along with the 390 series, KTM also launched the 250 Adventure at Rs. 2.60 lakh. It is Rs. 21,000, costlier than the older model. It shares its platform with the new 390 Adventure. The bike gets a new 249cc engine that makes 30.5bhp and 25Nm torque.

Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 Icon Edition Debuts

Royal Enfield launched the limited-edition Shotgun 650 Icon. Only 100 units will be sold worldwide, with just 25 available in India. It is priced at Rs. 4.25 lakh and will be sold on a first-come, first-serve basis from February 12.

This special edition gets a unique three-tone paint scheme and stylish design changes. It is inspired by the ‘Always Something’ custom bike by Icon Motosports.

Ola Electric Introduces Roadster X Plus

Ola Electric entered the motorcycle segment with the Roadster X Plus. It comes in two variants, including a 4.5kWh version priced at Rs. 1.05 lakh and a 9.1kWh version at Rs. 1.55 lakh. Deliveries for the smaller variant start next month, while the top variant will arrive later.

The highlight of this bike is its 9.1kWh battery, which gives an impressive 501km range. This makes it one of the most advanced electric motorcycles in India.
