Triumph has introduced the Tracker 400 & Thruxton 400 in India with a new 350cc engine setup. However, the motorcycle keeps its international design and styling unchanged. It still carries the “400” badge, which maintains its global identity. Let’s know more about them:

GST Changes Lead to New Engine Direction

Triumph has made this shift due to updated GST rules in India. Motorcycles above 350cc now face a 40 percent tax rate. Meanwhile, bikes under 350cc benefit from a lower 18 percent tax.

Because of this, the brand has started downsizing its engines. This helps reduce costs and improve pricing in a competitive segment. Perhaps this strategy will help Triumph reach more buyers across India.

In addition, other models in the lineup may soon follow this approach. The company clearly aims to balance performance with affordability.

About Triumph Tracker 400

Triumph Tracker 400

The flat-tracker-inspired bike looks sporty and sharp on the road. In addition, its riding posture feels more aggressive than the Speed 400. The new 350cc liquid-cooled engine produces 39.4bhp and 32Nm torque. However, this is slightly lower than the earlier 400cc version. The drop stands at 2bhp and 5.5Nm, which is noticeable on paper.

Thruxton 400 Gets Revised Pricing & Strong Performance Figures

Triumph Thruxton 400

Alongside the Tracker, Triumph has updated the Thruxton 400 for India. The motorcycle now costs Rs. 2,65,538 ex-showroom Delhi. This change comes after the benefits of the lower GST bracket.

The Thruxton 400 continues to deliver strong performance. It produces 41bhp and 37.5Nm torque, which makes it one of the quickest bikes in the lineup. In addition, it accelerates from 0 to 60 kmph in just 2.9 seconds.

Triumph continues to grow rapidly in the Indian market. The company now operates over 230 stores across more than 200 towns. In addition, its customer base and riding community keep expanding steadily.
