The Indian scooter market recorded strong sales in July 2026, with the top 10 scooters selling a combined 6,87,279 units. In comparison, these scooters sold 5,70,769 units in July 2025. As a result, the top 10 scooter sales grew by 20.41% year-on-year.
The sales chart showed mixed results across different models. Some scooters recorded strong double-digit growth, while a few popular models saw a decline. Electric scooters also gained more ground, with several models recording significant year-on-year growth.

The Honda Activa continued to lead the scooter sales chart in July 2026. It recorded 2,06,170 units, compared to 2,37,413 units in July 2025. However, its sales declined by 13.16% YoY.
Despite the decline, this Honda scooter held the largest share in the top 10 list at 30%. Therefore, it remained ahead of all other scooters by a clear margin.
The TVS Jupiter secured the second position with 1,48,595 units sold in July 2026. It recorded an 18.99% YoY growth, compared to 1,24,876 units in the same month last year.
Meanwhile, the Suzuki Access recorded 82,505 units, up from 68,172 units in July 2025. This resulted in a 21.02% growth. In addition, Access held a 12% share among the top 10 scooters.
Electric scooters delivered some of the strongest growth figures in July 2026. The TVS iQube recorded 59,386 units, compared to 23,029 units in July last year. As a result, sales of this TVS electric scooter jumped by 157.87% YoY.
The Bajaj Chetak recorded even stronger growth. It sold 47,184 units, compared to 11,584 units in July 2025. This represents a huge 307.32% YoY growth, the highest among the top 10 scooters.
Perhaps the growing demand for electric scooters helped these models increase their sales during the month.
The Ather Rizta also performed well in July 2026. It recorded 24,833 units, compared to 11,345 units last year. Therefore, its sales increased by 118.89% YoY.
Together, the strong performance of electric scooters shows that buyers are increasingly considering electric options alongside traditional petrol scooters.
The TVS Ntorq recorded 38,336 units in July 2026, up from 26,258 units last year. The sales of this TVS scooter grew by 46% YoY.
The Suzuki Burgman also recorded positive growth of 29.03%, with 30,607 units sold. Meanwhile, the Yamaha RayZR recorded 23,760 units, marking a 44.69% growth.
However, the Honda Dio saw a 7.33% decline, with sales falling to 25,903 units from 27,951 units in July 2025.
Overall, the top 10 scooters recorded 6.87 lakh units in July 2026, showing a 20.41% YoY increase. While Activa continued to lead the chart, several other scooters recorded strong growth during the month.
In addition, electric scooters posted some of the biggest gains, with Chetak, iQube and Rizta showing triple-digit growth. However, the decline in Activa and Dio shows that sales growth remained different across individual models.
