The Suzuki Burgman Street 125 is a scooter that grabs attention the moment you see it. It has a big, maxi-scooter style that makes it look different from regular 125cc scooters. In India, the Burgman Street has been popular for its extra luxury in the scooter segment. It has a large seat, a roomy floorboard, and a tall windscreen that give it a touring scooter feel. Moreover, the new EX version adds features like an auto start/stop system and a bigger rear wheel.

We rode it in busy city traffic, on open roads at higher speeds, and even on rough patches. It gave us a mix of good and not-so-good experiences. Let’s go through them one by one.

• When you park the Burgman next to a regular 125cc scooter, it almost looks like it belongs to a different category. 
• The scooter gets a big front apron, tall windscreen, and wide body panels, which give it a “big bike” personality.
• On the road, people do notice it. We got a few curious glances at traffic lights, especially when we were on the Metallic Royal Bronze EX version, that two-tone paint job really pops.
• The handlebars and switches feel solid, and most of the plastics feel well put together. Though on our test ride, the plastic around the handlebar cover had a little shake when going over rough roads.

• If you like the “big scooter” vibe, the Burgman nails it. And it does this without looking bulky in a clumsy way.

• Both the Standard and Ride Connect versions come with a neat and easy-to-read digital meter. It clearly shows your speed, fuel level, and trip details at a glance.

• The Ride Connect and EX versions offer Bluetooth pairing with your phone. This lets you see call alerts, text notifications, and even turn-by-turn navigation right on the screen.
• On the left side of the front panel, there’s a storage pocket with a cover and a USB charger. It easily holds a large smartphone while charging it on the go.

• On the right side, there’s an open pocket that’s perfect for keeping a one-litre bottle within easy reach.
• Under the seat, you get a generous 21.5 litres of space. This can hold a half-face helmet and still leave room for smaller items.

• The LED headlamp and tail lamp are bright, clear, and stylish. They do a great job of lighting up the road at night.

• The Burgman Street 125 runs on a 124cc engine that produces about 8.58 bhp and 10 Nm of torque, working with a CVT automatic gearbox.
• In slow-moving traffic at about 10 km/h, the engine stayed steady and smooth, without any sudden jerks or strain.
• On the highway, we pushed the EX version past 95 kmph on the speedometer, but it feels most comfortable and stable between 50 and 80 kmph.
• The EX’s auto start/stop feature works quietly and efficiently. We stopped for a few seconds, the engine shut off, twisted the throttle, and it started instantly without any noise.

• In our combined city and highway test, the EX delivered an impressive 44 kmpl.
• With start/stop enabled in city rides, we noticed slightly better mileage since the engine doesn’t waste fuel while idling at signals.
• The fuel tank holds 5.5 litres, and with our tested mileage, you can travel over 300 km on a full tank.

• The Burgman’s wide seat and spacious footboard make it feel inviting as soon as you get on. You can keep your feet flat or stretch them forward for a relaxed ride.

• The handlebar is placed so you can sit upright without bending forward, even if you’re tall. At 5’10”, our rider could rest both feet flat on the ground with ease.
• The seat feels firm at first, but over time, you realise it supports you well and stops you from sinking in too much, which is better for long rides.

• Whether you’re crawling through city traffic or cruising steadily at 70 kmph, the riding position remains comfortable and easy on the body.

• At higher speeds, the Burgman stays stable and confident due to its long wheelbase. Even at 80–85 kmph, it doesn’t feel shaky or unsettled.

• The front suspension is soft and soaks up bumps and rough patches nicely. The rear feels a bit stiff when riding solo, sending small jolts over potholes, but it becomes much smoother with a pillion.
• In city traffic, the scooter’s weight is well balanced, which makes it easy to weave through gaps without feeling heavy or clumsy.
• The EX version’s bigger 12-inch rear wheel adds a touch more balance and gives the scooter a better stance compared to the older, smaller wheel.
• The front disc and rear drum brakes offer a smooth, gradual bite, which makes them easy to control without any sudden grabbing.

• The rear brake could use a little more strength, especially when riding with a passenger or carrying an extra load.

• City Commute: Morning traffic in Delhi, lots of stop-and-go. The Burgman stayed calm, never felt like it was heating up too much, and the wide mirrors helped in lane changes.
• Highway Stretch: Open road, visor up, cruising at 75 kmph, it felt planted and steady, and the windscreen kept most of the wind off my chest.

• Rough Roads: Hit a series of patchy roads near an under-construction flyover, front soaked it up nicely, but the rear made us notice each bump when riding alone.
• Parking Situation: At a crowded market, the side stand cut-off feature saved us from accidentally trying to ride off with the stand down.

The Suzuki Burgman Street 125 stands out in the 125cc scooter crowd. It’s big, roomy, and comfortable, which is perfect for daily rides or weekend trips. The Standard and Ride Connect versions give you a good mix of price and features.

The EX adds a bigger rear wheel and a start/stop feature, but it costs about Rs 20,000 more. If you want style, comfort, and that maxi-scooter feel, the Burgman is a great pick. For the best value, the Ride Connect version hits the sweet spot.
