TVS Jupiter Expert Opinion

“TVS Jupiter has always been one of the most reliable and practical scooters in India. The 2025 model continues that legacy with several welcome upgrades. It is one of the best scooters for hauling groceries or cruising with a pillion. Honestly, if you're looking for an all-comfort scooter, the Jupiter absolutely deserves a test ride.”

4/5

The TVS Jupiter feels like that one dependable friend who just gets your daily routine. It’s smooth, practical, and never tries too hard to impress, yet ends up doing just that. We’ve spent over three weeks riding the new Jupiter from daily office commutes to quick highway stretches.

TVS Jupiter - Overview

And we have to say, this scooter feels like it was made keeping Indian families in mind. It’s simple, reliable, and still has that understated style that now comes with a modern touch. The Jupiter does its job so well that you begin to enjoy its small features and daily comfort.

4.5/5

  • The Jupiter still looks like a typical family scooter, but with a cleaner and more modern design this time.
  • The scooter comes with LED DRLs and turn indicators on the front. This gives it a premium and slightly sporty look that we really liked in city traffic.

TVS Jupiter - Indicator Switch

  • The rear LED strip looks very sharp, especially at night.
  • Build quality is excellent with metal panels that feel sturdy, but a few switches like the indicator button, felt slightly cheap to touch.

TVS Jupiter - Indicator

  • Our long-term unit had a scratchy pass switch after a few weeks of use, so some improvement in switch quality would be great.
  • The underseat storage is massive (34 litres). We put a laptop backpack on easily during daily commutes.

TVS Jupiter - Underseat Storage

  • You can store two half-face helmets or a week’s worth of groceries under the seat, which is a big plus for family buyers.
  • The fuel filler is placed on the front apron now, which means you don’t need to get off the scooter to refuel. This is one of the most convenient features of the scooter.
  • One hook for bags was useful, but the spring mechanism gave up in two weeks, and the hook stayed open all the time.
  • There’s also an open cubby to store small things like your phone or a bottle.

TVS Jupiter - Exhaust

5/5

  • We tested the SmartXonnect Disc variant of the TVS Jupiter. It came with a digital console, Bluetooth features, and voice-assisted navigation.

TVS Jupiter - Ignition Switch

  • It was helpful to get WhatsApp notifications and call alerts on the screen while riding to work, without needing to check the phone.
  • The ‘Follow Me’ headlamp feature was quite handy when parking in dimly lit areas.

TVS Jupiter - Headlight

  • It has self-cancelling indicators and a side-stand engine cut-off feature that worked reliably every time.
  • However, the display area is too small and can feel cluttered at times, especially while navigating. We wish the display were a bit bigger.

TVS Jupiter - Rear Indicator

4.5/5

  • The Jupiter has a wide, well-padded seat that keeps both the rider and pillion comfortable even on long rides.

TVS Jupiter - Seat

  • The riding posture is upright and natural. Even taller riders feel comfortable riding it.
  • The footboard has plenty of space to carry small shopping bags or just stretch out your legs a bit on longer rides.

TVS Jupiter - Footpegs

  • The pillion seat is easy to climb onto, even for older family members, and the grab rail feels solid and secure.
  • We rode it for over an hour in moderate traffic, and not once did we feel tired or sore due to the firm seat cushioning.

5/5

  • The 113.3cc engine is smooth and generates 7.91 bhp and 9.2 Nm, with an extra torque push from iGo Assist.
  • It's quick off the line and easily handles quick overtakes in city traffic.
  • When we took it on the highway for a short ride, it maintained 65-70kmph comfortably but felt a bit strained above that.
  • The engine stays quiet and calm even with the throttle fully open, with only a slight vibration around 60kmph.

TVS Jupiter - Engine

  • The auto start-stop feature worked most of the time, but occasionally needed a manual restart, especially at traffic signals.
  • Throughout our testing, the scooter delivered a real-world mileage of around 45 kmpl during our mixed city and highway use.
  • You can easily ride it around 230 km with a 5.1-litre fuel tank.
  • Even when we pushed the scooter a bit harder during testing, the mileage stayed above 40 kmpl.
  • The distance-to-empty feature is very useful and removes the guesswork about fuel range during daily rides.

TVS Jupiter - Fuel Lid

4.5/5

  • The scooter feels easy to ride through narrow lanes and traffic circles due to its light kerb weight of 106kg and small turning radius.
  • The suspension is slightly stiffer than older Jupiters, so sharp bumps can be felt, especially if you're riding solo.

TVS Jupiter - Suspension

  • However, with a pillion, the ride becomes smoother and more planted. We even did a small grocery haul with a pillion and still felt stable.
  • The 12-inch wheels give better grip and stability than older scooters with smaller wheels.
  • Taking U-turns or squeezing into tight parking spots was stress-free even in rush-hour traffic.

TVS Jupiter - Clutch Lever

5/5

  • The top variant gets a front disc brake, which works really well in city traffic and stops the scooter confidently.
  • The combined braking system ensures the front brake engages slightly when you use the rear, adding more control during emergency stops.

TVS Jupiter - Brake

  • We tested it on wet roads, and the CBS worked as expected, without any skidding.
  • However, we feel that disc brakes should be available on more variants, not just the top-end model.

4.5/5

TVS Jupiter 110 is incredibly practical, well-built, and has enough performance for most everyday needs. The features in the SmartXonnect variant are very useful in daily life. However, if you're on a tighter budget, even the lower variants offer solid value.

TVS Jupiter - Digital Console

Overall, the new Jupiter proves once again why it's one of India’s most trusted scooters. It does almost everything well, with very few compromises, and gives you a lot of scooter for your money.
