KTM RC450 Breaks Cover with Twin Engine and Sporty Upgrades

Published at December 12, 2025 | By BikeJunction

KTM appears ready to expand its RC lineup with the upcoming RC450, which has recently appeared in leaked Chinese type approval documents. The images and filings reveal key details about the production-ready motorcycle. Based on the existing CFMoto 450SR-S platform, the RC450 promises sharper performance and updated features. This KTM new model is expected to attract riders looking for an aggressive sportsbike with modern design cues and advanced components.

KTM RC450 Engine & Performance

RC450 uses a 449cc parallel twin engine with an impressive 55.4 hp. Although it is slightly more powerful compared to the CFMoto 450SR-S, with 51.7 hp, RC450 is lighter with a weight of 168 kg compared to 171 kg for 450SR-S. According to documents, RC450 boasts a maximum speed of 195kmph. Furthermore, it was also hinted at KTM’s variant with higher footpegs and a lower handlebar position.

Design and Chassis Updates

The RC450 largely shares the trellis frame and single sided swingarm with the 450SR-S. However, it comes with WP suspension, replacing the KYB units found on the CFMoto. The leaked images show integrated winglets in the front fairing and KTM’s familiar RC styling. The bike also features a steering damper and a quickshifter, offering better handling and more responsive gear changes. The 1,360mm wheelbase is 10mm shorter than the CFMoto, indicating sharper geometry for improved cornering.

Brakes, Tyres, & Other Specifications

The RC450 uses Bosch braking components for enhanced stopping power. It runs on a 110/70-17 front tyre and a 150/60-17 rear tyre, similar to the 450SR-S. These updates are expected to improve stability during aggressive riding and provide a better track-oriented feel.

Launch & Availability

There is no official word on the RC450’s launch or price. However, the appearance of production-ready images in type approval documents hints that a global launch may be close. Thus, the bike is based on the CFMoto platform and not built in India, a local launch appears unlikely in the near future.
