Kawasaki has unveiled the Kawasaki Z300 in India at an event in Bengaluru. The new streetfighter will become the entry level motorcycle in Kawasaki’s Z series.
It shares its engine platform with the Ninja 300 but gets an upright riding position and a modern TFT display. Bookings will open on October 19, while Kawasaki will announce its price and other details on October 20.
The Kawasaki Z300 uses a 296cc, liquid cooled, parallel twin engine, similar to the one found in the Ninja 300. It produces 39hp and 26.1Nm of torque, paired with a six speed gearbox.
These figures put the Z300 in the middleweight streetfighter segment. Its twin cylinder engine could appeal to riders seeking smoother performance for city commutes and highway rides.
The Kawasaki bike features an upright handlebar and relaxed ergonomics. These will offer a more natural riding position than the Ninja 300’s sportier setup.
The Z300 takes styling inspiration from the larger Kawasaki Z900. Its streetfighter design gives it a more aggressive appearance than the fully faired Ninja 300.
Key highlights include:
The TFT screen is a notable upgrade over the Ninja 300’s semi digital instrument cluster. Smartphone connectivity should add convenience for everyday use.
Kawasaki has not announced the Z300’s price yet. The Ninja 300 currently costs around Rs 3.34 lakh (ex showroom), providing a useful pricing reference.
A price below Rs 3 lakh could make the Z300 more competitive. However, buyers should wait for the official announcement before planning their purchase budget.
Its key rivals will include the KTM 390 Duke and TVS Apache RTR 310. Both offer strong performance, making pricing an important factor in the Z300’s appeal.
Kawasaki will begin accepting bookings for the Z300 on October 19, 2026. The company will reveal its price, variants and detailed specifications the following day.
For prospective buyers, the final price will be crucial. It will determine whether the Z300 offers a sensible alternative to established streetfighters.
The Kawasaki Z300 brings twin cylinder performance, updated instrumentation and relaxed ergonomics to the brand’s entry level Z lineup. Buyers should watch for the October 20 price announcement before making a decision.
