Harley-Davidson and Hero MotoCorp are now planning to expand their partnership. This time, they aim to develop entry-level performance bikes and cruiser bikes in India and sell them in global markets.

Earlier, both companies worked together mainly for the Indian market. However, now they want to take this partnership to the next level. In addition, this move will help them reach more customers worldwide at affordable price points.

New Launches Planned This Year

The companies already sell models like the X440 and Mavrick 440 in India. Now, they plan to introduce more bikes in the current financial year. Perhaps the biggest highlight will be the upcoming Harley-Davidson bikes, like the Sprint, which may launch later this year.

Moreover, industry insiders suggest that several new models will follow in the coming months. Some of these bikes may also be exported to emerging markets for the first time. This clearly shows their focus on global expansion.

India Becomes a Key Manufacturing Hub

India will play a very important role in this plan. Hero MotoCorp will manufacture these motorcycles at its Neemrana plant in Rajasthan. In addition, the company is expanding its premium showroom network, which already has over 130 outlets.

This strategy will not only boost local sales but also support exports. However, the final decision on global sales will depend on Harley-Davidson, based on market demand.

Harley-Davidson’s New Strategy

Harley-Davidson is also working on a new plan called “Back to Bricks.” Under this strategy, the company will launch around 20 new models and variants over the next three years.

The goal is to make its bikes more accessible to a wider audience. This becomes important because the company has seen a decline in global sales in recent years. Therefore, launching affordable and entry-level bikes can help improve its market position.

Strong Growth Opportunity in Premium Segment

The premium motorcycle segment is growing steadily in India. Hero Bikes are already popular in India. The 350cc to 500cc segment motorcycles already have a good position. In fact, it holds the third spot behind major competitors.

In addition, premium bikes offer higher profit margins compared to regular two-wheelers. This makes the segment even more attractive for both companies.

Overall, the expanded partnership between Harley-Davidson and Hero MotoCorp looks promising. While India remains the base, the focus has clearly shifted to global markets.

Therefore, with new launches, better production plans, and rising demand, this collaboration may help both brands grow stronger in the coming years.
