FADA has released the August 2026 two-wheeler retail sales data, showing strong growth in the Indian market. A total of 1,714,610 two-wheelers were sold in August 2026, compared to 1,432,537 units in August 2025. This represents a 19.69% year-on-year growth.
The growth came from several major two-wheeler manufacturers, with Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India leading the market. In addition, TVS Motor Company and Royal Enfield recorded strong double-digit growth during the month.

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India retained the top position in August 2026 with 447,342 units, compared to 372,867 units in the same month last year. The company recorded a 19.97% YoY growth and held a 26.09% market share.
The brand also launched 2 new models last month, namely Honda ADV 160 and Honda Rebel 300. Hopefully, these 2 wheelers will further increase the sales number for the company.
Hero MotoCorp secured the second position with 413,996 units, up from 349,039 units in August 2025. This resulted in an 18.61% YoY growth. However, its market share declined slightly from 24.37% to 24.15%.
TVS Motor Company continued its strong performance, selling 353,746 units in August 2026 compared to 282,347 units last year. The company registered a 25.29% YoY growth and increased its market share from 19.71% to 20.63%.
Bajaj Auto recorded 157,149 units in August 2026, compared to 136,335 units in August 2025. This represents a 15.27% YoY growth. However, its market share fell from 9.52% to 9.17%. However, the all new Bajaj Pulsar 125 and Pulsar 150 were launched last month, which could help increase sales as well as the market share of the brand.
Suzuki sold 104,217 units in August 2026, up from 96,184 units during the same period last year. The company posted an 8.35% YoY growth, while its market share declined from 6.71% to 6.08%.
Royal Enfield recorded strong growth in August, selling 94,448 units compared to 76,505 units last year. This represents a 23.45% YoY increase, while its market share improved from 5.34% to 5.51%.
Yamaha sold 62,375 units in August 2026, compared to 55,172 units in August 2025. The company recorded a 13.06% YoY growth, although its market share dropped from 3.85% to 3.64%.
Ather Energy continued to post strong growth in the electric two-wheeler market. The company sold 28,757 units in August 2026, compared to 19,210 units last year. This marks a 49.70% YoY growth, while its market share increased from 1.34% to 1.68%. Now the company has also introduced the Ather Konarc, which might help in gaining strong sales momentum in the coming months.
Ola Electric reported a decline in sales during August 2026. The company sold 13,852 units, compared to 19,464 units in August 2025. This resulted in a 28.83% YoY decline, with market share falling from 1.36% to 0.81%.
Greaves Electric Mobility recorded significant growth, selling 8,613 units in August 2026 compared to 4,567 units last year. The company registered an 88.59% YoY growth, while its market share increased from 0.32% to 0.50%.
River Mobility recorded one of the highest growth rates among the listed manufacturers. It sold 5,141 units in August 2026, compared to 1,903 units last year. This represents a massive 170.15% YoY growth, with market share increasing from 0.13% to 0.30%.
BGauss Auto sold 4,845 units in August 2026, compared to 1,729 units in August 2025. The company registered an impressive 180.22% YoY growth, while its market share increased from 0.12% to 0.28%.
Classic Legends recorded 4,256 units in August 2026, compared to 2,649 units during the same month last year. This resulted in a 60.66% YoY growth, with market share rising from 0.18% to 0.25%.
Piaggio Vehicles sold 3,595 units in August 2026, compared to 2,900 units in August 2025. The company recorded a 23.97% YoY growth, while its market share increased slightly from 0.20% to 0.21%.
The Others Including EV category recorded 12,278 units in August 2026, compared to 11,666 units last year. This represents a 5.25% YoY growth, although its market share declined from 0.81% to 0.72%.
With several major manufacturers showing double-digit growth, the August 2026 sales figures highlight continued demand for both ICE and electric two-wheelers in India.
