TVS Motor Company and BMW Motorrad have reached a major achievement as their joint production has now crossed 2 lakh units. The landmark motorcycle, a BMW F 450 GS, rolled out from TVS Motor’s Hosur plant, which marks an important moment in their partnership that began in 2013. This milestone not only highlights their growing relationship but also shows their steady success in international markets.
Over the last ten years, both TVS and BMW companies have worked together to create successful sub-500cc models. These include the BMW G 310 R, BMW G 310 GS, and BMW G 310 RR. Interestingly, while these motorcycles are still sold in more than 100 global markets, the G 310 R and G 310 GS have been discontinued in India. However, the partnership continues to stay strong globally, and the demand for these models remains steady.
Perhaps what stands out most is how the alliance has built a reputation for delivering reliable and accessible performance bikes for riders across regions such as Europe, Asia, and the Americas.
Speaking about the milestone, KN Radhakrishnan, Director and CEO of TVS Motor Company, said, “In our over a decade-long partnership with BMW Motorrad, our engineering synergy and shared values of innovation and quality have formed the foundation of every achievement. Together, we have designed and brought several path-breaking products that resonate with customers across leading markets in Europe, the Americas, and Asia.”
In addition, Markus Flasch, CEO of BMW Motorrad, shared that “The rollout of the new BMW F 450 GS marks the next exciting chapter in our journey together. We look forward to building on this strong foundation to deliver even more innovative, accessible, and truly world-class motorcycles for riders everywhere.”
With the production of the BMW F 450 GS now underway, the collaboration is entering a fresh phase. The new adventure motorcycle brings updated engineering and serves as the next step in the duo’s expanding premium motorcycle lineup.
Moreover, both companies have confirmed that they are working on new platforms and future-ready technologies. These developments will help them grow further in the premium and urban mobility categories.
