Triumph Thruxton 400 Spotted Testing: A Retro Cafe Racer in the Making

Triumph Motorcycles will introduce a new bike named the Thruxton 400, a retro-looking cafe racer spotted testing in Europe. The new bike has old-school looks blended with modern performance. It intends to win the hearts of motorcycle enthusiasts. Let’s learn more about this bike.

Classic Design with Proven Performance

The Thruxton 400 gets its inspiration from the vintage cafe racers of older motorcycles. It features a retro-fitted semi-fairing, clip-on handlebars, and bar-end mirrors, all of which contribute to its vintage look. Moreover, the tail section has been redesigned to have a stubby fender, contributing to the overall aesthetic of the motorcycle. All these combined contribute to the bike's sporty and aggressive riding position.

The Triumph Thruxton 400 features a 398.15cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces 39.5 bhp @ 8,000 rpm and 37.5 Nm of torque @ 6,500 rpm. It is renowned for its tractability and refinement. Additionally, it features a six-speed transmission, ensuring a prompt and exciting riding experience.

Shared Components and Features

This Triumph Bike has to share some of the Speed 400 components, such as the semi-digital instrument, LED lighting, and suspension configuration. The deliberate sharing, aside from ensuring unity in Triumph's 400cc family, provides reliability and performance. The rider will enjoy a similar but distinctive experience with the Thruxton 400.

Triumph is set to launch the Thruxton 400 towards the end of this year, with a possible launch during the festive season. This launch will give competition in the 350cc to 450cc retro-classic motorcycle segment currently acquired by Royal Enfield.
