Honda Set to Revolutionise the Market with Its High-Tech Activa Scooter

Smartphone Connectivity Coming to Honda’s Popular Scooter.

Honda has revealed that the Honda Activa will get an update soon, along with the launch of the Honda Shine 100. The exact date is not confirmed yet, but the scooter might be available this festive season.

The new Honda Activa will have a digital instrument panel that can connect to your smartphone. It has yet to be determined what features it will offer. Well,  it might include call/SMS notifications and battery and network indicators on the scooter.

Honda registered its ‘RoadSync’ connectivity system in India but might not offer music control and turn-by-turn navigation on the Activa. However, these features would make it comparable to the TVS Jupiter ZX SmartXonnect.

The new Activa might also use the Honda Smartphone Voice Control system (HSVC) from the H’Ness CB350 and the CB350RS. However, this connectivity module has a few features that are not very useful either.

The Honda Activa is priced at Rs 74,536 for the STD variant and Rs 80,537 for the new H-Smart variant. The price of the new model will be Rs 6,000 higher than the H-Smart. 

For comparison, the TVS Jupiter ZX SmartXonnect costs Rs 87,123 (all prices ex-showroom Delhi). It will be curious to see what other updates Honda will bring with this model.
