Honda Rebel 500 vs Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650: Which One to Choose?

Honda has recently launched its much-awaited stylish cruiser motorcycle, the Rebel 500, in India. This new bike is introduced for the riders who want a comfortable riding experience and a retro look. However, there are several models available in the market that offer the same value to the riders. One of the top contenders is Super Meteor 650, which is already a popular cruiser in this segment.

In this blog, we are going to compare Honda Rebel 500 vs Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650. The comparison is based on the looks, engine, specs, and price. Read till the end to know which one meets your needs.

Rebel 500 and Super Meteor 650 Engine

The Rebel 500 uses a 471cc parallel-twin engine that makes 45.5 bhp of power and 43.3Nm of torque. It has a similar engine to the Honda’s NX500, which offers smooth and reliable performance.
The Super Meteor 650 comes with a bigger 648cc engine. As a result, It produces slightly more power at 46.3 bhp and higher torque at 52.3Nm. While it’s more powerful on paper, the difference isn’t huge.

Design: Rebel 500 vs Super Meteor 650

The Honda Rebel 500 looks like a classic cruiser with a low seat, wide tyres, and a stylish high-mounted fuel tank. This Honda bike is available in a single colour option, which is Matt Gunpowder Black Metallic. Overall, it looks minimalistic and unique on roads.
On the other hand, the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 looks more catchy and bold. It has shiny chrome parts, a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, and even dual exhausts. Moreover, the bike has a wide range of colour options, such as Astral Green, Celestial Red, Interstellar Green, etc.

Specifications: Rebel 500 vs Super Meteor 650

Rebel 500 and Super Meteor 650 Specifications
The Rebel 500 has a tubular steel frame with standard telescopic forks and twin rear shocks from Showa. It gets 16-inch wheels on both ends with wide tyres, giving it a low and balanced feel. It weighs 191kg, which is quite light for a cruiser and makes it easier to handle, especially in city traffic.
The Super Meteor 650 is built on a stronger double-cradle frame and features a thicker 43mm USD front fork, making it feel more solid. But it’s also much heavier at 241kg. This Royal Enfield bike has a larger 15-litre tank, which is good for long rides, while the Rebel only has an 11.2-litre tank. However, the lower weight of the Rebel gives it a big advantage for new or smaller riders.
