Honda and TVS Top the Sales Chart By Defeating Hero in April 2025

India's two-wheeler segment saw a big reshuffle in April. At the beginning of FY2026, Hero MotoCorp fell to the third spot in sales. Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India hit the top, followed by TVS Motor Company, in the second position. The current sales figures show good momentum for Honda and TVS, while Hero experienced a significant decline. Let’s check out their sales numbers and other brands that make the list. 

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India

Honda has registered a total of 4,22,931 units of sales in April, emerging as the country's top-selling two-wheeler maker during the month. The company recorded a strong growth in demand from March 2025 and last year's corresponding period. Honda's regular model upgradation as per the new emission norms appears to be working in its favour, keeping it at the top of the game.

TVS Motors

TVS Motor was next with 3,23,647 units sold in April. The brand benefited from Hero's fall and moved up the ranks. TVS had a positive month-on-month growth, indicating that its performance is still on the rise. Its well-known Apache series has been a steady performer for it, and although the iQube electric scooter range is not included in these numbers, it is a consistent performer in the EV segment.

Hero MotoCorp 

Hero MotoCorp, as would be expected, reported below-par sales of 2,88,254 units. It was partly a result of a scheduled production shutdown at several of its factories for maintenance and supply chain purposes. Hero production shutdown had a noticeable impact on its dispatch numbers overall. Nevertheless, the company stated that more than 5 lakh of its vehicles have been registered during April based on VAHAN portal data that includes actual on-road deliveries.

Bajaj Auto

Bajaj Auto took the fourth spot with 1,88,615 units. It posted a decent gain over the previous month and continued to record double-digit growth versus last year. The just-refreshed Pulsar NS400Z continued to keep interest alive in the sporty variants of the brand. Bajaj's electric Chetak family isn't included here, but it is one of the country's best-selling EVs nonetheless.

Suzuki Motorcycle India

Suzuki Motorcycle India logged sales of 95,214 units. The company experienced a decline from March, but still fared better than the same period last year. Suzuki recently updated its best-selling scooter, Access 125 and is currently developing fresh updates for some of its popular offerings, such as the Burgman scooty.

Royal Enfield

Royal Enfield, which is popular for its classic and mid-cap motorcycles, logged sales of 76,002 units. Numbers indicate only marginal year-on-year growth, whereas overall dispatch was down. The company has just updated the Hunter 350 recently to enhance ride comfort and aesthetics, and added an LED headlight in the upper variants at a marginal price increase.
