FADA has released its Calendar Year 2025 two-wheeler retail sales report, highlighting steady growth despite mixed performance across manufacturers. In CY’25, the Indian two-wheeler market recorded retail sales of 2,02,95,650 units, compared to 1,89,24,815 units in CY’24. This reflects an overall 7.24% year-on-year growth, supported by rising demand for premium motorcycles, scooters, and electric two-wheelers.

Hero MotoCorp retained its position as the market leader with 58,23,063 units sold in CY’25, up from 54,89,236 units in CY’24. This translated into a 6.08% YoY growth. However, the company’s market share declined slightly by 1.08%, indicating rising competition across commuter and scooter segments.
Honda secured second place with 50,37,953 units in CY’25, compared to 48,00,438 units in CY’24. The brand posted a 4.95% YoY growth, though its market share slipped by 2.14%, reflecting increasing pressure from both ICE and EV competitors.
TVS Motor Company delivered one of the strongest performances, selling 37,88,459 units in CY’25 versus 32,40,893 units in CY’24. This resulted in a robust 16.90% YoY growth, along with a 9.00% gain in market share, supported by strong demand across motorcycles, scooters, and electric models.
Bajaj Auto reported 21,55,166 units in CY’25, slightly lower than 21,85,578 units in CY’24. This marked a 1.39% YoY decline, with market share dropping by 8.05%, pointing to softer demand in certain commuter and export-linked segments.
Suzuki recorded 10,97,838 units in CY’25, up from 9,57,155 units in CY’24. The company achieved a healthy 14.70% YoY growth, while market share improved by 6.95%, driven largely by scooter-led demand.
Royal Enfield continued its strong upward trajectory with 10,34,155 units sold in CY’25, compared to 8,16,886 units in CY’24. This delivered an impressive 26.60% YoY growth, alongside an 18.05% rise in market share, underlining sustained demand in the premium and mid-capacity motorcycle segment.
Yamaha sold 6,76,555 units in CY’25 versus 6,61,055 units in CY’24. The brand posted a modest 2.34% YoY growth, although market share declined by 4.57%, indicating stable but limited expansion.
Ather Energy emerged as one of the fastest-growing players, retailing 2,00,797 units in CY’25, up from 1,26,357 units in CY’24. This translated into a massive 58.91% YoY growth, with market share rising by 48.18%, highlighting strong momentum in the premium EV space.
Ola Electric faced a sharp slowdown, selling 1,99,318 units in CY’25 compared to 4,07,700 units in CY’24. This resulted in a steep 51.11% YoY decline, with market share falling by 54.41%, signalling significant challenges in sustaining volumes.
Greaves Electric sold 56,486 units in CY’25, up from 35,060 units in CY’24. The company reported a 61.11% YoY growth, along with a 50.23% improvement in market share, supported by growing acceptance of affordable electric scooters.
Classic Legends registered 38,501 units in CY’25 versus 33,017 units in CY’24. This marked a 16.61% YoY growth, with market share increasing by 8.73%, reflecting steady interest in Jawa and Yezdi motorcycles.
Piaggio recorded 32,258 units in CY’25, slightly lower than 34,819 units in CY’24. The brand saw a 7.36% YoY decline, accompanied by a 13.61% drop in market share, indicating subdued demand.
BGauss Auto sold 22,883 units in CY’25, compared to 18,033 units in CY’24. This resulted in a 26.90% YoY growth, with market share improving by 18.32%, supported by gradual EV expansion.
The “Others Including EV” category recorded 1,32,218 units in CY’25, up from 1,18,588 units in CY’24. This reflects an 11.49% YoY growth, with a 3.96% increase in market share, driven by new and smaller EV players entering the market.
