In August 2025, the industry clocked in a total sales volume of 1,373,675 units, whereas in August 2024, the industry saw sales of 1,344,380 units. This resulted in a 2.18% growth in YoY growth. Moreover, a 1.34% increase in MoM sales is observed, as sales figures in July 2025 were 1,355,504 units.

Honda remained the top-selling two-wheeler manufacturer in August 2025 with total retail sales of 354,531 units. This marks a slight increase of 0.17% from 353,917 units in August 2024. The company's market share declined by 1.96%.
HeroMotoCorp secured second place with 341,865 units sold in August 2025. This is a 4.84% decline from 359,268 units sold in August 2024. This translates to a market share drop of 6.87%.
TVS registered a strong performance with 271,522 units sold in August 2025, compared to 237,418 units last year. This represents a YoY growth of 14.36% and an increase in market share of 11.93%.
Bajaj Auto sold 129,138 units in August 2025, down from 149,552 units in August 2024. Its market share dropped to 15.49%, signalling a dip in competitiveness or product demand compared to the previous year.
Suzuki recorded 90,800 unit sales in August 2025, showing a solid increase of 13.70% from 79,857 units in August 2024. This growth also translated into a market share increase of 11.28%.
Royal Enfield sold 71,630 motorcycles in August 2025, improving on 56,318 units in August 2024. As a result, the sales increased by 27.19% and the market share increased to 24.48%, highlighting strong demand in the mid-size premium segment.
Yamaha sold 53,504 units in August 2025 compared to 52,214 in August 2024. Its market share dropped slightly by 0.29%, indicating a small contraction in its customer base or channel movement.
Ola Electric saw a significant drop in sales from 18,972 units in August 2024 to 27,623 units in August 2025. Consequently, its sales declined by 31.32%, reflecting weakened demand or strategic adjustments.
Ather Energy posted a strong performance with 17,871 units sold in August 2025, up from 11,046 units last year. Its sales jumped to 61.79%, making it one of the standout performers in the EV segment.
With 4,498 units sold in August 2025 compared to 2,824 units in August 2024, Greaves Electric experienced an increase of 59.28%. Its market share also increased by 55.88%.
Piaggio recorded a drop in retail sales, moving from 2,634 units in August 2024 to 2,780 units in August 2025. Its market share reduced to 7.27%, showing a slight decline in presence.
Classic Legends sold 2,406 units in August 2025, compared to 2,122 units in August 2024. This shows an increase in sales by 13.38%.
PUR Energy experienced significant growth of 511.34%, selling 1,779 units in August 2025 versus just 291 units in August 2024. As a result, the company’s market share jumped to 498.30%, indicating rapid scale-up.
Bgauss maintained its position with 1,720 units sold in August 2025 compared to 1,111 units last year. Its sales increased by 54.82%.
River Mobility saw a massive leap in sales from 280 units in August 2024 to 1,657 units in August 2025. This translates to a sales increase of 491.79% and a market share by 497.17%, positioning it as a rapidly emerging EV player.
The Kinetic Green has sold 1,513 electric two-wheelers in August 2025, which is a 289.95% increase in sales when compared to 388 units in August 2024.
The “Others Including EV” segment posted 7,635 unit sales in August 2025, up from 7,371 units in August 2024. Its market share increased slightly to 1.37%
