Last week brought steady movement in the two-wheeler space, even without major mass market launches. Most updates focused on upcoming motorcycles, early technical disclosures, and future planning by brands. In addition, premium sportbikes received notable discounts, hence improving their value. Electric mobility also saw a fresh entry aimed at younger riders. Therefore, this weekly round up covers the most important bike related developments from the past week.

Hero MotoCorp expanded its Vida electric range with the launch of the Dirt.E K3. This electric dirt bike is designed specifically for children aged four to ten years. The introductory price is set at Rs. 69,990 for the first 300 units. It is powered by a 500W electric motor, therefore limiting the top speed to 25kmph. Yamaha attracted attention after filing the YZF-R2 trademark in India. This filing indicates the brand may be working on a new entry level supersport motorcycle. If launched, the Yamaha R2 would sit above the current R15 in the lineup. The upcoming bike could use an enlarged version of the R15’s engine. Hence, the R2 is expected to deliver higher power and stronger on road performance. However, Yamaha has not shared any official launch timeline yet.

Technical details of the KTM RC 450 surfaced through homologation documents filed in China. These documents revealed key specifications of the upcoming sportbike. The RC 450 uses a 449.5cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine. On this model, the engine produces 55.3 bhp, which is higher than similar motorcycles. Moreover, the KTM bike has a claimed top speed of 195 kmph. However, reports suggest this model may remain limited to the Chinese market.

Kawasaki India announced a major price benefit on the Ninja ZX-10R superbike last week. The company is offering a Rs. 2.5 lakh discount on the on road price. Therefore, the effective price now comes down to Rs. 21.10 lakh. This limited period offer is valid until 31 December 2025. In addition, the Ninja ZX-10R is already positioned as one of the most accessible litre-class sportbikes in India.

Select Triumph dealerships across India are offering a Rs. 1 lakh discount on the Daytona 660. The following offer applies to 2025 model year units only.
