India’s electric two-wheeler market is seeing strong demand this festive season. In the first 15 days of October 2025, a total of 67,328 electric scooters & motorcycles were sold across the country. As Diwali is approaching on October 20, sales are expected to double in the second half of the month only. Bajaj Auto has now taken the top position, slightly ahead of TVS Motor Company. Meanwhile, Ather Energy & Hero MotoCorp have also shown a strong increase in the early month of October.
Bajaj Auto has sold 14,461 electric scooters between October 1 and 15. This makes the company the leader in early October sales. It has moved ahead of TVS by a narrow margin of 372 units.
However, it remains to be seen if Bajaj can maintain the lead throughout the month. The final ranking for October will depend on sales in the last two weeks.
TVS Motor Company, which led the market for six straight months, sold 14,089 units in the same period. The brand’s main contributor continues to be the TVS iQube, a popular choice among urban riders.
In addition, TVS recently launched a new model the TVS Orbiter, priced at Rs. 99,900 (ex-showroom, Bengaluru).
Ather Energy continues its steady rise in the EV market. The company delivered 12,601 scooters in the first half of October, placing it close behind Bajaj and TVS.
Hero MotoCorp also performed well during this period. The company sold 8,393 units of its Vida VX2 scooter in the first half of the month.
Ola Electric, once the market leader, now stands in the 5th place with 7,697 unit deliveries between October 1 & 15. Most of its sales come from the Ola S1 series of scooters.
Greaves Electric Mobility, which sells the Ampere brand, ranks sixth with 3,381 units. Its key models include the Nexus, Magnus, and Reo scooters.
Together, the top six brands Bajaj, TVS, Ather, Hero, Ola, and Greaves sold 60,622 electric two-wheelers in early October, making up nearly 90% of total e-2W sales.
From January to mid-October 2025, India has sold 986,739 electric two-wheelers, which is already 86% of 2024’s total sales. The earlier peak month was March, with 131,434 units sold.
With Diwali bringing heavy demand and festive offers, experts expect the second half of October to record even higher sales. Hence, the month could become the best performing month of 2025 for the electric two-wheeler industry.
Bajaj, therefore manages to keep its lead and TVS continues its strong run, the competition will remain tight. Moreover, with Ather, Hero, & Ola pushing hard, India’s electric two-wheeler market looks set for a bright festive season ahead.
