The 2027 Kawasaki Ninja 650 gets important updates to its suspension, brakes, and electronics. Kawasaki keeps its 649cc parallel-twin engine and everyday-friendly riding character unchanged.

The biggest mechanical update comes to the front suspension. The current model uses a conventional 41mm telescopic fork. For 2027, Kawasaki replaces it with a 37mm Showa SFF-BP Separate Function Fork-Big Piston inverted fork.
This new fork uses a larger piston, which allows lower damping pressure. As a result, it should offer better control during braking and corner entry. In addition, Kawasaki has increased the rear shock spring rate to match the revised front setup.
The Kawasaki Ninja 650 also gets a major brake upgrade. It continues with twin 300mm front discs, but Kawasaki now adds opposed four-piston radial-mount callipers.
This setup should improve brake response and give riders better control at the lever. Perhaps more importantly, Kawasaki has also added a wider front mudguard to cover more of the new fork legs.

The motorcycle continues with its 4.3-inch colour TFT display, but Kawasaki has redesigned the screen layout. Smartphone connectivity through Rideology now adds navigation and voice-command functions.
However, Kawasaki says the voice-command feature needs a separate licence and may vary by market. Therefore, it remains unclear whether this function will reach the Indian-spec model.
In addition, Kawasaki will offer its Quick Shifter as an accessory for the first time on the Ninja 650. It allows clutchless upshifts under acceleration, although it will not come as standard.
The European-spec MY27 model also gets a slightly lower 785mm seat height and a 194kg kerb weight. There are three colours for 2027: Lime Green, Metallic Flat Spark Black with Metallic Carbon Gray, and Metallic Matte Graphene Steel Gray with Metallic Spark Black. Indian colour availability may differ when the motorcycle arrives here.
