TVS Motor Company has entered the fast-growing adventure touring market with the launch of the all-new TVS Apache RTX 300. The TVS bike is priced at an introductory Rs 1.99 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base variant and goes upto Rs 2.29 Lakh. This marks a major step for the Apache series, as the company aims to take on well-known rivals in the segment. Let’s know more about this bike in detail.
The Apache RTX 300 is based on the latest RT-XD4 platform, which focuses on better cooling, smooth power delivery, and improved efficiency. It will be available in three variants, including Base (Rs 1.99 lakh), Top (Rs 2.14 lakh), and BTO (Rs 2.29 lakh). All prices are introductory and ex-showroom.
Perhaps the biggest highlight is the newly developed 299cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled DOHC engine. It produces 35.5 bhp at 9,000 rpm and 28.5 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm. The engine uses dual cooling technology with both oil and water jackets, and is paired with a 6-speed gearbox with assist and slipper clutch for smooth shifts.
TVS has equipped the Apache RTX with plenty of modern features to make long rides easier. Riders get four ride modes: Urban, Rain, Tour, and Rally, which adjust engine response, traction control, and ABS according to terrain.
In addition, the bike comes with cruise control, bi-directional quickshifter, and a 5-inch TFT display with Bluetooth for navigation, ride data, and call alerts. Moreover, the bike features adjustable levers and a tyre pressure monitoring system, which are included too.
The suspension includes WP components with a long-travel USD fork at the front and a mono-shock at the rear. Apart from this, the motorcycle has dual discs with terrain-adaptive ABS, offering control on both highways and trails.
The design combines muscular lines with a forward-leaning rally stance. Its signature DRLs, twin-beam headlamp, and aggressive tank give it a distinct look. TVS also offers modular mounts for luggage and has tied up with GIVI for premium touring accessories like panniers and top boxes.
