India’s scooter market opened 2026 with strong sales across petrol and electric segments. The sales figures for January reveal Honda Activa leading the chart comfortably, while TVS iQube has surprised many buyers. The latest sales figures indicate an increasing interest in scooters that are useful for city riding. Moreover, electric scooters are steadily competing with petrol models in overall rankings. The top five list clearly reflects changing customer choices and increasing acceptance of EV technology in India.
Honda Activa series held the first spot in the market with the sale of 2,71,924 units in January 2026. The sales increase was 33.21%, indicating a steady demand in the market. Customers choose Activa due to its simple design, smooth handling, & usability. In addition, its wide service network supports consistent sales performance across the country.
TVS Jupiter range recorded 1,29,744 units in January 2026, maintaining its second position. The scooter registered a 7.42% growth during the same period. Jupiter models attract family buyers seeking comfortable seating and practical storage space. Moreover, balanced pricing keeps it competitive within the mid-size scooter segment.
Suzuki Access 125 posted sales of 69,042 units in January 2026. The scooter reported a growth change of 0.8% during the month. Access 125 remains popular due to its refined engine and comfortable ride quality. In addition, recent updates have strengthened its appeal among city riders.
TVS iQube recorded monthly sales of 37,520 units in January 2026. Electric scooter has been growing in popularity in the key cities in India. Its elegant design, functionality, & usability appeal to day to day commuters. Besides, it is promoted by competitive pricing, which continues to grow in the EV market.
TVS Ntorq 125 had a sale of 36,596 in January 2026. In the same period, scooter achieved a growth rate of 25.7 per cent. Ntorq continues to do well with the young lot as well, because of the sporty looks and the fully equipped features. Moreover, the good performance makes it a contender in the 125cc scooter segment as well.
