In India’s 125cc scooter segment, buyers often compare the reliable Honda Activa 125 with the practical Suzuki Access 125. Both scooters target daily riders who want good mileage, modern features, and comfortable performance. However, when we look closely at engine specs, design, and equipment, clear differences begin to appear.

Both scooters run on similar engines. The Access 125 uses a 124cc single-cylinder motor, while the Activa 125 comes with a 123.92cc engine. Their power output remains nearly identical at around 8 bhp in both models.
Because of this, riders may not feel a major difference in acceleration during normal city rides. In addition, both scooters offer automatic transmission and smooth throttle response, which suits stop-and-go traffic.
On paper, both scooters claim mileage close to 47 kmpl. However, real-world use often depends on weight, riding style, and traffic. The Access 125 weighs about 106 kg, while the Activa 125 stays near 107 kg, so both feel equally manageable for city riding. Moreover, the fuel tank capacity also remains the same at 5.3 litres, which means a similar range between refills. Still, some users feel the Access delivers slightly better efficiency due to its lighter feel and smoother pickup.
On consideration of practicality, the Access 125 comes out slightly ahead. It has more under-seat storage capacity which is over 24 litres whereas the Activa has approximately 18 litres. This distinction is important in the case of riders who carry bags and helmets every day. Besides that, the seat in The Access is longer, which eases the pillion ride. The Activa however counters this by having slightly high ground clearance and familiar ride position that many families appreciate.

The latest models of both scooters have LED lighting, digital displays, USB charge, and smartphone connectivity. In the higher variants, the Activa 125 is fitted with a smart key system that enables it to lock and unlock without a key. In the meantime, the top model of the Access 125 provides a TFT and navigation support. Due to this fact, the choice of variants rather than brand determines the differences in features.
