Royal Enfield Plans Rs. 2,500 Crore Andhra Pradesh Plant to Support Upcoming 750cc and 450cc Motorcycles

Royal Enfield is preparing for its next growth phase with a brand-new manufacturing facility in Andhra Pradesh. The company plans to invest nearly Rs. 2,500 crore in the upcoming greenfield project at Tada, near Tirupati. However, the investment still awaits final board approval before construction officially begins.

The new facility will rise in phases depending on future demand and overall market conditions. In addition, the company believes the plant will support its growing motorcycle portfolio and improve production flexibility in coming years.

Currently, Royal Enfield operates four manufacturing facilities in Tamil Nadu. Together, these plants offer an annual production capacity of around 14.6 lakh motorcycles. Earlier this year, Royal Enfield also announced a Rs. 958 crore investment for its Cheyyar facility in Tamil Nadu. Once completed, the upgraded Cheyyar plant will increase the company’s total yearly production capacity to 20 lakh units.

Upcoming Models Could Benefit From The Expansion

The new Andhra Pradesh facility may also play a key role in supporting Royal Enfield’s future motorcycles. The company is currently developing several new products for both domestic and international markets. RE is preparing the Himalayan 750 and Continental GT 750 for buyers seeking adventure touring and stronger highway performance.

The brand is reportedly working on more motorcycles based on the Himalayan 450 platform as well. These upcoming products may target riders looking for lightweight adventure and touring options.

Global Presence & Retail Network Continue To Grow

Furthermore, the new factory could help Royal Enfield reduce waiting periods for popular models. The company has witnessed strong demand across several segments during recent years.

Apart from India, Royal Enfield already operates seven CKD facilities globally. These units function across countries like Brazil, Thailand, Argentina, Nepal, Bangladesh, and Colombia. The company also runs technical centres in Chennai and Bruntingthorpe in the UK.

In Andhra Pradesh alone, Royal Enfield has already established more than 100 retail and service touchpoints. Moreover, the company says it has created over 1,200 direct and indirect jobs in the state.
