Honda SP 160 Unicorn To Launch In India Soon

Honda India plans to launch its new SP 160 Unicorn motorcycle in the coming months in India. The bike will be positioned above the SP 125 and might be a premium alternative to the Honda Unicorn. The bike will likely be launched during the festive season, possibly next month.

Price and Competitions of Honda Unicorn

It will be priced at an Ex-Showroom price of around Rs. 1.15 lakh, which is higher than its current cost of around Rs. 1.10 Lakh. The bike will follow the launch of the Shine 100 and Dio 125 in recent weeks. Honda is already working on new two-wheelers, including some Electric Models.

The Honda SP 160 will be a direct competitor to several popular motorcycles in the 150cc to 160cc segment. It includes the Yamaha FZ V4.0, Suzuki Gixxer 155, and the entry-level Bajaj Pulsar 150.

Mechanical Components of Honda SP 160

The Honda SP 160 is expected to use the platform and engine borrowed from the Honda Unicorn 160. It indicates that the new motorcycle might share some mechanical components with the Unicorn 160.

The Unicorn 160 will have a 162.7 cc single-cylinder air-cool engine capable of producing 12.9 hp at 7,500 rpm and 14 Nm of peak torque at 5,500 rpm. The engine is attached to a five-speed gearbox. The design is influenced by the SP 125, and we can also expect fresh colour schemes and sporting graphics.

Features of Honda SP 160

The SP 160 will have some distinct features and characteristics compared to the Unicorn 160, with a Fuel Tank Capacity of 12 litres. It will come with a smaller fuel tank as compared to the Unicorn's 18-inch wheels. The SP 160 will have smaller 17-inch wheels and is available in two different variants, similar to the SP 125. These variants might differ in terms of braking hardware.

The Unicorn's engine is expected to have refined characteristics and longevity. The longer wheelbase in the bike provides a comfortable ride to both pillion and the rider. Some other bike details will be revealed after the bike's launch.
