Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India recently showcased several premium motorcycles and scooters at its event in Delhi. The lineup included the Honda CB350, ADV160, Rebel 300, Rebel 500 E Clutch, XR300 Rally, and more. However, before the official launch, the Honda Rebel 500 made headlines after its expected India price appeared on BigWing dealership websites.
According to the listing on the BigWing Mumbai website, the Honda Rebel 500 could be priced at Rs. 5,49,469 (ex showroom). Last year, the motorcycle was introduced at Rs. 5.12 lakh, making this a noticeable increase. However, the listing has already been removed from the BigWing Bengaluru website, while it remained visible on the Mumbai website at the time of writing.
In addition, the leaked price appears to be for the standard Rebel 500 and not the Rebel 500 E Clutch. Therefore, the E Clutch version could carry an even higher price when Honda officially announces it.
The Honda Rebel 500 is a premium cruiser motorcycle with a low seat height and a relaxed riding position. It uses a 471cc liquid cooled parallel twin engine that produces 46 bhp and 43.3 Nm of torque. Moreover, the engine comes paired with a six speed gearbox for smooth performance.
Perhaps the motorcycle will attract riders looking for comfortable long distance touring with modern technology. It is expected to compete with the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 and the Kawasaki Eliminator. Honda may also offer a premium circular TFT instrument cluster, similar to the one seen on the recently unveiled Rebel 300. The company is expected to announce the official price and launch details soon.
